Descripción del problema “La Colosa” mine is located in the

municipality of Cajamarca Tolima.  This
project has some problems:

• Water and air pollution due to some

chemical substances, however many
people agree with this project.
• Large amounts of waste affecting the
environment.
• Deforestation causing damage to fauna,
soil and polluted water and air.

Introducción The Colosa mine is located in the

Department of Tolima, it has some
problems:
• Deterioration in water and air due to the
increase of chemical elements such as
Bario and cyanide.
• Large amounts of waste affecting the
environment.
• Deforestation causing damage to fauna,
soil and polluted water and air.

It is the largest gold mine in Colombia. The

project sought to generate employment,
agricultural and livestock projects, health,
education and public services.
Using of cyanide affects the community
because it increases the incidence of lung
cancer, bladder and leukemia. Increases
respiratory, renal, reproductive, dermal,
intestinal and visual diseases.
