1. What are the different principles of teaching?

The different principles of teaching according to Horne and Pine are learning is an
experience which occurs inside the learner and is activated by the learner, learning is
the discovery of the personal meaning and relevance of ideas, learning is a
consequence of experience, learning is a cooperating and collaborative process,
learning is an evolutionary process, learning is sometimes painful, One of the richest
resources for learning is the learner himself, the process of learning is emotional as well
as intellectual, and the process of problem solving and learning is highly unique and
individual.

2. What are the laws of learning by Thorndike?

The laws of learning by Thorndike are Law of Effect, Law of Exercise, Law of
Readiness, Law of Primacy, Law of Recency, Law of Intensity, and Law of Freedom.

3. How do feelings and emotions affect the learner’s learning?

The feelings and emotions of an individual are directly relative to his/her
learning. If a person is genuinely happy and calm whether it may be in listening to
discussions, reading handouts, watching video lectures or any other forms, their
eagerness to learn is not clouded with any other thoughts due to the fact that their state
of mind is at ease. Through this, they would be completely interested and motivated to
absorb information and understand them easily, as the absence of internal and external
disturbances will help them redirect their focus in learning rather than worrying about
other concerns. If a person feels down, his/her attention would be about the problems in
his/her mind rather than learning, which is also the same case when a person is angry,
bothered, frustrated and more. A person’s attention to learn will be focused once he/she
is genuinely interested or his disposition towards absorbing information is not muddled
with negativity. Optimistic emotions help learners to show enthusiasm towards learning.
