Nutrition Month Celebration

The Technology and Livelihood Education Department of Batitang National High School celebrated the
Nutrition Month on July 27 , 2018 with the theme of “ Ugaliing magtanim, sapat na nutrisyon aanihin. ”

The highlight of the program is the cookfest wherein the students exhibited their skills in cooking ,
presenting delicious and palatable dishes. Senior High School students showed also their skills in
baking , flair tending , napkin folding , and table setting through the effort of Ms. Beverlyn Pineda ,
their TVL teacher.

“The Nutrition month celebration aims to develop the student’s knowledge , skills , resourcefulness ,
and creativity in many aspects .” – Mrs. Yolanda E. De Guzaman , T.L.E Chairman. The students joined
the following activities such as Nutri-quiz that held on July 23 , Slogan making on July 24 , Poster making
on July 25 , Nutri-Jingle on July 26 , Cook Festival , Flair tending , Napkin folding and table skirting on
July 27 , 2018 . The said contests were judged by the non-adviser teachers namely : Mrs. Myrna S.
Raquel , Mrs. Natividad B. Agaton , Mrs. Miriam R. Cordova , Mrs. Emilia D. Galang , Mrs. Juliana B. Diaz ,
Mr. Nino H. Marcos , Mrs. Mercy V. Pineda , Mrs. Yolanda E. De Guzman , T.L.E. Area Chair , Mrs Emilita
F. Agustin , the Head teacher and our very own Mr. Armando R. Lajom , principal of this school.

The winners of the said contests are the following : For the cook festival in Grade 7 , 1 st place is the 7
Archimedes ( group 2) , 2nd place is the 7 –Edison ( group 1 ), and the third place is the 7- Newton
(group 3). For grade 8 , 1st place is the 8- Jade (group 1) , 2 nd place Is the 8-Amethyst , 3rd place is the 8-
Ruby(group 4). For grade 9, 1st place is the 9- Virgo , 2nd place is the 9- Aquarius , and the 3 rd place is the
9-Capricorn. For grade 10 , 1st place is the 10-Earth (group 2) , 2 nd place is the 10-Venus , and the 3 rd is
the 10-Earth (group 4) . For grade 11 –GAS with their pasta the winners are : 1 st place is the Red Sauce
Pasta , 2nd place is the White Sauce Pasta , and for the 3 rd place is the Veggie Macaroni. For grade 11-
TVL(girls) for napkin folding the winners are : 1 st place is Mary Grace Duro , 2nd place is Rosemarie
Cariaga and the 3rd place is Michelle Acosta. For grade 11-TVL (boys) flair tending the winners are : 1 st
place is Jet Louie Esteban , 2nd place is Denver Castillo. For grade 12-GAS (cakes) the winners are :
1stplace is the Orange Chiffon Cake , 2nd place is the Butterfly cake , and the third place is the Green cake.
For grade-12 TVL table skirting the winners are: 1st place is Chalija Cababat’s group , 2 nd place is Angeline
Garcia’s group. For junior high school department the winners are: 1 st is the 10- Venus , 2nd place is the
8- Amethyst , and the 3rd place is the 9- Aquarius , and for the senior high school department , 1 st place is
12-GAS( Ken’s group) , 2nd place is 12-GAS (Aubrey’s group) , and the 3rd place is 11-GAS.

Mrs. Yolanda De Guzman , TLE area chair , presented the guidelines and criteria for judging in the in the
said cook fest

Other activities and winners in the event from first to third place are: Rovirain Cristobal , Jhaniel Canlas ,
Juliana Mae Diaz for Nutri-quiz. Jamille De Guzman , Sophia Valles , Kimberly Flores for slogan making in
junior high school department , and for senior high school department Kimsirr Hornillos, Clarence
Francia , and Catherine Pallarca . Ehrin James Gonzales , Adrian Castillo , Christian Esteban for poster
making contest in junior high school department , and for senior high school department , Josephine
Pascua , Dunhill Bautista , and Mark Rayzon Canivel.
The program was considered successfully done because of the students were participated and showed
their skills and talents in different activities . The TLE department and TLE club officers have done their
part as well in order to celebrate the program meaningfully . Induction of TLE club officers was also
included in the program .

The program was ended with the awarding of certificate of winners by the TLE teachers together with
Mrs. Emilita F. Agustin , our Head Teacher.
