DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows established procedures or protocols and utilizes aseptic technique to perform


experiments associated with endocrinology, immunology, serology and/or virology. These
may require basic blood separation, labeling and assay methods such as RIA, ELISA,
immune-precipitation, immunofluorescence and chemo - illummunosensces assays that
used to detect the monoclonal and/or polyclonal antibodies and other associated
specialized laboratory methods including tissue cultures.

• Operates the hematology and blood bank departments via dealing the blood sample. by
processing the sample like, CBC test manually or automatically that include blood film
preparation and reading, TWBCs count, DWBCs count, blood cross matching, DAT,
IDAT, blood grouping forward or reversal discrepancies and antibody screening and
titration (O panel) tests and equipment’s like CellDyne, Sysmex, UDI HEM I and
Humalyte hematology machine.
• Operates the both biochemistry and clinical chemistry departments from routine test that
proceed by spectrophotometer manually to highly automated equipment (UDI CHEM
ELITE, BIOSYSTEM, ERMA 600E, CHEMWELL, EUROIMMUNE, LIAISON, Cobas
C111 and C6000).

• Operates basic laboratory equipment such as centrifuge, pH meter, analytical balance,


spectrophotometer, light microscope, and/or utilize laminar flow hood. May also utilize
sophisticated instrumentation such as flow cytometer, pipettes. Operates lab computers for
data entry.

• Maintains accurate data records.

• Maintains and makes minor adjustments to equipment, e.g. calibrating, alignment.

• Complies with biohazard/radiation safety standards through proper handling of potentially


hazardous chemical and biological agents and/or radiation sources in the workplace.

• Uses sterile techniques to avoid contaminating lab experiments.

• Uses universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazards
materials, including blood-borne pathogens.

• Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains following standard laboratory formulas and
procedures.

• Evaluates and maintains records and documentation of routine products and process
testing, statistical process controls and raw materials acceptance (reagents) and other
activities
.
• Provides immediate superior operational analysis, trending and other information (with
the aid of statistical process control tools) needed to ensure consistently high quality
product at optimum production efficiency and can be made as basis for management
decision making and planning.
