PROJECT SYNOPSIS

WORKING TITLE:

“Performance Appraisal Systems”

PURPOSE OF STUDY:

Performance appraisal aims at attaining the different purposes. They are

● To create and maintain a satisfactory level of performance.

● To contribute to the employee growth and development through training, self and

management development programmers.

● To help the superiors to have a proper understanding about their subordinates.

● To guide the job changes with the help of continuous ranking.

● To facilitate fair and equitable compensation based on performance.

● To facilitate testing and validating selection tests, interview techniques through

comparing their scores with performance appraisal ranks.

● To provide information for making decisions regarding lay off, enrichment etc.

● To ensure organization effectiveness through correcting employee for standard and

improved performances, and suggesting the change in employee behaviour

● Briefly, three purposes are generally achieved through performance measurement i.e.

alignment, adaptation and achievement.

a. Alignment, refers that the position of man in relation to the organization should be lined

up in such a way that each shall render support to other for development and growth.

b. Adaptation refers to human transformation to match with the organizations needs. It is

an act of changing ones behavior to make it suitable for a new purpose.


c. Achievement is something more than completion of the task, it is the human success ‘in

doing’ something in a desired way to produce greatly.

AIM:

To understand various performance appraisal systems and how performance appraisal need to be

implemented and to study how PMS is contributing to organization to increase productivity of

the employees.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:

This study contains the following objectives,


● To evaluate the efficient performance appraisal system of organization.
● To identify the satisfaction level of the employees and also to examine the employees
attitude towards the appraisal system and management of the company.
● To diagnose the strength and weakness of individual so as to identify the training and
development needs of the future.
● To provide feedback to the employee regarding their past performance and also
suggestions to improve it in the future.
SCOPE OF THE STUDY:

The present study attempts to find out the extent of appraising management strategies adopted by

the employees in My Home Industries limited. The assessment has been made with reference to

solution oriented, control and also has focused on giving specific suggestions to improve the

relations in industrial sector.

Findings of the present study could provide an empirical bases upon which appraising

management strategies adopted by the employees has styled to meet their needs of the industrial

people.
It gives them the intricate details that they actually need to take their organization to greater
heights. It also helps them to know where do they actually stand what do they lack and they find
it easier to improve upon themselves in a way they help their workman and their sub-ordinates in
maintaining a problem free organization. This study helps the personnel department to identify
the various tools and techniques and the type of training programme that are to be conducted for
their employees.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:

The data will be collected from secondary sources, organizations records, journals etc

data is to be tabulated, analyzed and interpreted using technical charts and techniques.

SECONDARY DATA:

Data is collected from the internet, organization, books and newspapers.

DATA ANALYSIS:Analysis of the data which is collected through responses shared by

employees of the organization and in line with literature review and primary data. The detailed

analysisof appraisal systems managements and employees perception towards performance

management systems etc will be carried out and the questionnaire contains all questions related

to above mentioned.
