Volume (cm3)
1. a-

b- Slope= 4.53623 g/cm3

Intercept= 0.004 g

c- By interpolation, I get y=6.8g

To make sure, substitute the x by 1.5 cm3 in the equation and calculate y
y=mx+b
y= 4.536 x 1.5 + 0.004 = 6.8g for a 1.50cm3 sample of pure tin

d- By extrapolation, I get y=0.9g

To make sure, substitute the x by 1.5 cm3 in the equation and calculate y
y= 4.536 x 0.20 + 0.004 = 0.9112g

Concentration of HCL (mol/dm3)
2. a-
Slope= 2.5322 g.dm3 / mol.s
Intercept with y axis: -0.6496 g/s
b- Rate at 4. mol/dm3 is 9.5 x 10-4 g/s
y=mx+b
y= 2.5322(4.0) – 0.6496 = 9.47 => 9.5 x 10 -4 g/s

Beaker containing water Linear (Beaker containing water )

Beaker containing Acid Linear (Beaker containing Acid)
3. a-

b- Slope of beaker containing water graph: 1.4955oC/min

Slope of beaker containing acid graph: 2.9964 oC/min

c- It took the water 4.65 min. to reach 27oC

27= 1.4955x + 20.041 => x = (27-20.041) /1.4955 = 4.65 min

d- It took the acid 2.2 min to reach 27oC

27= 2.9964x + 20.291 => x= (27-20.291)/2.9964= 2.23min

e- The acid temperature will cool faster since the acid has a graph with a steeper slope than
water.
