NEOM BAY - INFRASTRUCTURE

4. Date and time of starting and completing drilling,

5. Overall length of drill hole,
6. Description of soil materials recovered,
7. Description and location of obstructions encountered,
8. Ground-water conditions,
9. Remarks, including conditions encountered

E. Cement Grout: Cement grout shall have a minimum 7-day compressive strength of 26 MPa,

F. Admixtures: Use an approved additive to improve the workability, increase the rate of strength
and reduce the bleed or shrinkage of the cement grout.

3.7 BRACING

A. Bracing: Locate bracing to clear columns, floor framing construction, and other permanent work.
If necessary to move brace, install new bracing before removing original brace.

1. Do not place bracing where it will be cast into or included in permanent concrete work
unless otherwise approved by the Engineer.
2. Install internal bracing, if required, to prevent spreading or distortion of braced frames.
3. Maintain bracing until structural elements are supported by other bracing or until
permanent construction is able to withstand lateral earth and hydrostatic pressures.

3.8 ROCK BOLTS, SHOTCRETE, WIRE MESH AND WEEP HOLES

A. Shotcrete: Comply with Section 033713 “Shotcrete” unless modified on the drawings.

B. Rock Bolts: Comply with ASTM D 4435-08 and ASTM F 432-10

C. Drilling: Drill to required length for each rock bolt. Maintain accurate work records for each drill
hole

D. For rock open cut excavation, install rock bolts, apply shotcrete and install wire mesh and weep
holes where needed, after obtaining the Engineer’s approval, based on the geological joint line
survey and kinematic analysis of the discontinuities at the face of rock cut, and in compliance with
the designer’s Rock Support drawings.

E. Clean the rock cut slope with fresh water prior to the application of wire mesh/shotcrete.

3.9 REMOVAL AND REPAIRS

A. Remove excavation support and protection systems when construction has progressed sufficiently
to support excavation and bear soil and hydrostatic pressures. Remove in stages to avoid
disturbing underlying soils or damaging structures, pavements, facilities, and utilities.

1. Remove excavation support and protection systems to a minimum depth of 1200 mm

below overlaying construction and abandon remainder.
2. Fill voids immediately with approved backfill compacted to density specified in
Section 312000 "Earth Moving."
3. Repair or replace, as approved by the Engineer, adjacent work damaged or displaced by
removing excavation support and protection systems.
