Hi everybody!

We are Igor from Brazil, Akemi from Japan and Gisell from France. Igor is 27, Akemi is 25
and Gisell is 23 years old. Brazil is located in South America and it is the largest country
there. Its official language is Portuguese (no Spanish as we used to believe). Japan is
located in Asia, its official language is Japanese and its traditional dish is called sushi.
Akemi says that she prepares the most delicious sushi. France is located in Europe and its
official language is French, so we have learnt some sentences in this beautiful language. Its
traditional dance is the mazurcas, the waltzes, the branles, the contradanzas and
scottisches. Gisell has also shared some videos and she is good at dancing it! We have
been friends for 6 months and we knew each other through this website "Pen pals in
funny letters". We wanted to be pen pals because we had the same dream: to speak
English very well and know about different cultures.

Let us talk about the experience of being pen pals. We have different times zones, so we
have planned a schedule once a week to have video calls through hangouts, and we have
prepared different topics to talk about (adoption, advice, aging, aliens, etc). In addition,
we have a WhatsApp group and every night we love to tell our pals about our day, and
send audios and pictures about interesting things we found during the day. Every week,
one member of the group sends the activities we should do to improve our English skills: a
book to read, a song to memorize, a tongue twister to record and send to the group. You
cannot imagine how much our English has improved. Now, we can understand movies and
songs in English, and we speak more fluently in English.

When we found out about the challenge suggested by the "pen pals in fun letters"
website, we started reading about England and really enjoying its culture. You must know
many things before traveling to this interesting country. First, they greet each other by
shaking hands, they drive to the left, you have to be very punctual and drinking tea is very
important in this culture. If we win this challenge, we will visit the Bristol Balloon Party.
We are going to visit all the amazing places in the quaint little town of Bath, Windsor
Castle. We want to win this challenge to learn more about English culture and improve our
English skills.
