Abstract
Sociology has various paradigms, which are resulted from a long
history of methodological debates called methodenstreit. This
methodenstreit emerged to distinguish and determine which
methods are the most suitable to explain social phenomena,
such as inductive or deductive methods, nomothetic sciences
or ideographic sciences, value free or not, and the relationship
between theory and practice level. Therefore, we acknowledge
various paradigms within the methodology of sociological
research, which are: positivism, post-positivism, constructionism,
critical theory and participatory.
Intisari
Sosiologi sebagai sebuah ilmu, memiliki banyak paradigma. Ragam
paradigma yang ada lahir dari perdebatan panjang dari sejarah
lahirnya sosiologi yang dikenal dengan istilah methodenstreit
(Perdebatan Metodologi) yang membedakan metode Induktif
dan deduktif, no¬mothetic sciences dan ideographic sciences,
bebas nilai dan padat nilai, serta keterpisahan teori dari praxis.
Perdebatan panjang ini melahirkan ragam paradigma metodologi
dalam penelitian sosiologi, yaitu : positivisme, post-positivisme,
konstruktivisme, teori kritik dan partisipatoris.
