1.0 PURPOSE

Define a procedure to provide a proper and efficient sequence of work for the
installation of steel grating supports at transformer oil pit area which are required to be
perform in safely manner in accordance to the project specifications Saudi Aramco and
other relevant industry code & standard

2.0 SCOPE

This method statement will cover the work associated with the installation of steel
supports (channels, end plates and angle) for steel gratings of transformer oil pit areas
at Marjan Increment Program Package 12 in conformance to the contract scope of
work. This shall be read in conjunction with the other approval method statement and
project specification. In the event of conflict with the other, the most stringent shall
govern

4.0 RESPONSIBILITY

Designation Responsibility

He is responsible for implementation of all HSE


requirements; he shall study, analyze and schedule all
construction activities with his department to include
Project Manager manpower and equipment line up as well as other possible
resources required for the successful implementation of the
construction work activities. Study all aspects of work
procedure as per Project Technical Scope of Work.

He shall study and review all necessary documents for the


erection works in his area to include, technical scope of
work, specification, bill of quantities, planned milestone
dates and construction procedure in support to his
Construction Foreman. He shall monitor the availability of materials in
Manager accordance with the schedules and construction analysis. He
shall be directly reporting to the Project Manager. He shall
coordinate with other discipline to visualize possible conflicts
in the drawings as well as in the schedules to provide
other options in preventing unnecessary delays obstructions.

He is responsible for ensuring that the quality management


system (QMS) is fully implemented in an organized and
QC Manager efficient manner. The QA/QC Manager is responsible for
delegating and assigning tasks to QA/QC Supervisors and
working closely with related engineering, construction,

regulations, equipment specific specifications, and QMS

He shall be responsible for the direct work supervision at site


and ensure that the work is performed in accordance with
Site Engineer- Contractor and company Technical Scope of Work and
Civil latest approved for construction drawings. He shall
monitor the availability of materials in line with his required
schedule.

He shall be responsible in monitoring and inspection of the

ensuring that the work is done in accordance with Saudi

He shall study and analyze if the location where the structure


should be installed satisfies the condition or restriction of
erection works on site. He shall coordinate with other

5.0 RESOURCES

The Contractor shall deploy an adequate number of resources as per requirement and
quantum of work in compliance to work schedule and resource histograms.

6.0 MATERIALS

7.0 WORK PROCEDURE

7.1 Preparatory Works

 Ensure that the Construction Method Statement had been prepared, reviewed and
approved by the COMPANY.
 Conduct a safety tool box meeting together with all personnel which will be involved
in the execution of works.
 Prepare and review the arrangements of material installation as per approved IFC
drawings and shop drawings.
 When work is performed at elevated location, the access will be provided by
scaffolding and platform assemblies inspected by authorized scaffolding inspector.

7.2 Installation Works

 Locate the positioning of the steel supports on the oil pit wall with the aid of surveyor.
 Place the 12mm thk. end plates on the wall and make the marking for anchor drilling.
 Using a hand drill machine, drill 4-14 holes on the wall for each end plates and fix
by tightening 4-M12 Chemical Anchor Bolt with the hand tool spanner.
 Make sure all the end plates are fixed as per drawing in correct position and
alignment.
 If required, use lifting equipment to bring the channel supports to its locations where
it will be installed.
 Install the C150x75x5.7x10 steel channel supports on the 10mm thick plate with 2-
M20 galvanized bolts.
 Bolts shall be installed in all holes of the connnection and brought to a sbug tight
condition.
 Check the installed steel channel for proper alignment and plumbness.
 After the full structure are aligned and fully braced, check for damages on the coating
of steel channel supports. Touch-up paint to be done to all damage portions prior to
installation of steel grating.
 Install/lay the galvanized steel gratings and checkered plates as required in
approved drawings.
8.0 QUALITY CONTROL

 The Quality of Work shall be performed in line with the SA Quality Standards, relevant
inspection shall be made at stages as per approved ITPs.

 QC Inspector has to utilize the applicable SATIP’s & SAIC’s for every activity.
 QC Inspector / QC Supervisor will be assigned to monitor the quality and assurance of
the works.
 Quality records shall be complied and maintained for final submission at the end of the
project as per handling over documentation.
 All inspection reports shall be submitted to COMPANY according to approved ITP.

9.0 HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

 The HSE shall perform a splendid role in all construction activities to ensure that all the
works are being carried out in a safe manner and creating a healthy environment at the
site. All activities shall be carried out safely in accordance with CONTRACTOR
approved CSSP and relevant SACSM requirements.
 Daily toolbox meetings shall be conducted as mandatory, educating skilled personnel &
labors about evacuation drills, motivates them to use proper and appropriate PPE for the
job.
 Work Permits (WP) shall be obtained from the relevant authorities thru the assistance of
the Contractor. The WP shall always be available during the work execution.
 Approved Job Safety Analysis (JSA) must be discussed by Site Engineer/Safety Officer
to the Working Team before the activity starts. Each personnel must be aware of all
hazards associated with the Works. And since JSA is an active document, it may change
accordingly as the work progresses.
 Personal Protective Equipment’s (PPE) shall be provided and required, varying and
appropriate to type of Works. Safety Belts, with associated harness and lifeline shall be
provided for the personnel working at heights.

 All tools & equipment should be checked prior to commencing any work and at the end
of any work to report any defect or damage that may have occurred during an activity.
 Hand tools should be inspected on a regular basis and be in good working condition.
 All workers shall have working at heights training prior to working at heights. To ensure
that all workers working at heights shall wear full body harness with 100% tie off.

 Any incident at site shall be immediately reported to client and recorded. Weekly Safety
Statistics Reports and Safety Performance Reports, etc. shall be prepared and recorded.
 All debris and excess materials shall be removed form site and dispose to an approved
dumping area.
 Proper housekeeping shall be maintaned at working area.
