About This Manual
Purpose
This manual describes how to use the NetNumen U31(ICT) R22 EMS system to manage
data products.

Intended Audience
This manual is intended for:
l Network planning engineers
l System configuration engineers
l Maintenance engineers

This manual contains the following chapters.

Figure 1-1 shows the basic operation flow of the NetNumen U31(ICT) R22 unified EMS
system.

1. Start the EMS server.

To use the EMS system, you must start the EMS server first.
2. Log in to the EMS system.

To perform related management operations, you must log in the EMS system.

Chapter 1 Quick Start

In the topology management view, you can view and show network resources,
physical topology, and link topology.
l IP device management
With this function, you can manage resources, configure devices, and manage
the device software of an NE.
l Single NE view management
In the single NE view, you can manage resources, configurations, tools, and virtual
value-added services.
l Traffic analysis

You can analyze interface traffic reports and NE traffic reports.


l vBNG management
You can manage the vBNG information and performance.
l WLAN management
You can manage the WLAN function of AC devices.

4. Log out of the EMS system.

1.2 System Start and Login


1.2.1 Starting the EMS Server
This procedure describes how to start the EMS server by clicking the Start button on the
Windows system.

Prerequisite
The EMS server software is installed successfully.

Steps
1. On the Windows system, select Start > All Programs > ICT Management System >
ICT Console.
When all processes in the ICT Console page are started successfully, it means that
the EMS server is started successfully, see Figure 1-2.

Note:
l Processes displayed in the page vary with the product components selected
during the installation. You use the processes displayed in the ICT Console
page as the standard.
l The EMS system automatically starts all processes, so you do not need to
manually start them one by one.
l The control console start file (console.exe) of the EMS system is saved in the
installation directory (ums-server) of the EMS system.

1.2.2 Logging In to the Element Management System


This procedure describes how to log in to the EMS system by entering the URL of the
NetNumen U31(ICT) R22 system in the browser on the Windows system.

Prerequisite
The EMS server operates properly.

Chapter 1 Quick Start

After the new version of the EMS of is installed, the historic records of the browser must
be cleared to avoid affecting the system buffer.

Steps
1. Open a browser, and enter the URL of the NetNumen U31(ICT) R22 system in the
address bar, for example, http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:21180. XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
indicates the IP address or domain name of the EMS server. The login page is
displayed.

Note:

The U31(ICT) R22 management system supports the following browsers:


l IE11 and later
l chrome47 and later
l Firefox47 and later

2. On the login page, enter the user name and password.

Note:
On the NetNumen U31(ICT) R22 system, the initial user name is admin and the initial
password is blank. After you log in for the first time, you must modify your password
as soon as possible.

3. Click the Login button.

2.1 Displaying the Rack Chart Page


A rack chart page displays the physical rack and the information about physical resources,
including the rack, shelves, boards, ports, and their operation statuses.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Monitor > Topology > Physical
Topology. The Physical Topology page is displayed.
2. Select an NE, click the icon next to the NE, and then select Open Rack Chart from
the displayed shortcut menu. The Rack Chart page is displayed, see Figure 2-1.

3. Select a port, and then right-click it to query alarm information, performance


information, or port information, see Figure 2-2.

You can click the following icons to perform other operations.

l Click to select the items that you want to view.

l Click to zoom in on a specific part in the rack chart.

l Click to zoom out on a specific part in the rack chart.

l Click to restore the rack chart to the default status.

l Click to zoom in on the rack chart to the full view status.


l Click to zoom in on the rack chart to the full screen status.

l Click to export the rack chart to the local PC.

l Click to refresh the rack chart to view the real-time status of the rack chart.

l Click to show the legend that describes meanings of the icons.

2.2 Managing NE Detection Tools


This function involves several common detection tools, including SNMP ping detection,
management channel ping detection, management channel Tracert detection, and NM
management channel detection.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS, select Monitor > Topology > Physical Topology.
The Physical Topology page is displayed.
2. In the topology as shown in Figure 2-3, select an NE, and right-click next to the NE.
Select Detection Tool from the shortcut menu.

Select a detection tool as required, including Trace Detection, SNMP Ping,


Management Channel Ping, Management Channel Ping Tracert, and
Management Channel Detection.
l Perform a Trace detection on the NE.
Click Trace Detection. The ICMP TRACE page is displayed.

Configure the Trace detection parameters. For a description of parameters, refer


to Table 2-1.

Click Execute to perform the Trace detection.


l Perform SNMP Ping detection for NEs.

Click SNMP Ping. The SNMP Ping page is displayed.


SNMP Ping detection is used to check the connectivity of NE SNMP.

Configure the SNMP Ping detection parameters. For a description of parameters,


refer to Table 2-2.

Parameter Description

PING Count Count of the SNMP Ping operations that are


automatically originated.
Default: 3

SNMP Version SNMP version number (V1, V2, or V3).

SNMP Port SNMP port number.

Read Community SNMP read community.

Write Community SNMP write community.

Timeout(Second) Connection timeout time (seconds), default:


3 seconds.

Click Execute to perform the SNMP Ping detection.


l Check whether the NE management channel can be pinged successfully.

Click Management Channel Ping. The Management Channel Ping page is


displayed.
The system automatically pings the management channel.

The Management Channel Ping page shows the ping result of the management
channel.
Click Execute to ping the management channel again.

l Perform Tracert detection on the NE management channel.


Click Management Channel Tracert. The Management Channel Tracert page
is displayed.

The system automatically performs the Tracert operation on the management


channel.
The Management Channel Tracert page shows the Tracert detection result of
the management channel.

Click Execute to perform the Tracert operation on the management channel.


l Detect the NE management channel.

This function checks whether the SNMP, CLI, and multiuser configurations of an
NE are correct.
Click Management Channel Detection. The Management Channel Detection
page is displayed.

Click Execute. The system starts to check the NE management channel, see
Figure 2-4. When Detect Status shows Done, check the NE management status.

Enable indicates a normal status. Red Disable shows an abnormal status, see
Table 2-3.
For a description of parameters, refer to the following table.

Parameter Description

SNMP Read Status Normal status indicates that the device


connection is normal and the read
community string is the same as the device
configuration.

SNMP Write Status Normal status indicates that the write


community string is the same as the device
configuration.

CLI Status The CLI status determines whether some


CLI operations are successful, for example,
preventive device maintenance and batch
version upgrade.

Multi-User Config Sets whether to enable the multiuser


configuration function for the device. After
this function is enabled, multiple users can
operate the device at the same time.

2.3 Displaying the Single NE View Page


This procedure describes how to display the Single NE View page.

A single NE view involves the resource management, configuration management, and tool
management of a single NE, which facilitates the NE management.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS system, selectMonitor > Topology > Physical
Topology. The Physical Topology page is displayed.
2. Select an NE, click the icon next to the NE, and then select Single NE View from
the displayed shortcut menu. The Single NE View page is displayed, see Figure 2-5.

3.1 Managing the Portal


With the portal management function, you can manage NEs, alarms, and interface
statistics on the U31 (ICT) R22 system.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Portal. The Portal page is displayed.
2. Click Setting. The Statistics Setting dialog box is displayed, see Figure 3-1.

3. Click Add. Set the parameters by referring to Table 3-1, and click Close.

Calculate Type Max Value, Min Value, Average Value and Last
Value.
Set this parameter if Statistic Type is set to
Performance.

4. (Optional) To modify a statistical item, select the item and click Modify.
5. (Optional) Click OK.
6. (Optional) To delete a statistical item, select the item and click Delete.
7. (Optional) Click OK.
8. Click Layout or Portal to modify statistical items as required.
9. Click Add. The Add Statistics dialog box is displayed.
10. Select statistical items as required, and click OK.
11. Click Save.

3.2 Resource Management


3.2.1 Managing an NE
The basic information management of an NE involves viewing an NE, creating an NE,
modifying an NE, and importing NEs in batches.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS, select Physical Device > IP Device Management >
Resource > NE. The NE page is displayed.
2. To create basic information of an NE, perform the following operations:
a. Click the Create button. The Create page is displayed.
b. Set the basic attribute of an NE. For a description of the parameters, refer to Table
3-2.

Parameter Description

NE Type If you do not set the NE type while creating an NE, the NetNumen
U31(ICT) R22 system automatically identifies the NE type after the
NE is created successfully. If the system fails to identify the NE
type, the NE Type parameter is set to unknown Type.

IP Address IP address of an NE, mandatory.


To create an NE, enter a single IP address. To create NEs in
batches, enter an IP address segment, such as 1.2.3.4–1.2.3.5.

Other parameters Optional.

c. Click the SNMP Information tab and set the parameters by referring to Table
3-3. The parameter setting must be consistent with the that configured for the NE
device.

Parameter Description

SNMP Version SNMP version number (V1, V2, or V3).

SNMP Port SNMP port number.

Read Community SNMP read community.

Write Community SNMP write community.

Timeout(Second) Connection timeout time (seconds), default: 2 seconds.

d. Click the CLI Information tab. Select the mode for logging in to the NE device
remotely, and set the CLI parameters for the NE.
SSH and Telnet means to remotely log in the NE device by SSH or Telnet.
e. Click the Other Information tab, and then set the Loopback parameter. You must
ensure that the loopback address of the NE is the router ID of the LDP.
f. Click the OK button. A message box that displays "Create Success" is displayed.
g. Click the OK button to close the message box.
3. To modify information about an NE, perform the following operations:

a. Select a record, and then click the Modify button. The Modify page is displayed.
b. Modify basic information, SNMP information, CLI information, and other
information for the NE.
c. Click the OK button. A message box that displays "Modify Success" is displayed.
d. Click the OK button to close the message box.
4. To delete the NE information, perform the following operations:
a. Select one or multiple NE records. Click Delete. The Delete page is displayed.
b. Select a deletion type: delete from the all groups or delete from the current
group.
c. Click OK.
5. To query the NE information, perform the following operations:
a. Click Search. The query page is displayed, see Figure 3-2.

b. Enter or select a query condition as required. Click OK.


The system displays the query results that meet the requirements.
6. To view the basic information about an NE, perform the following operations:
a. Select a record, and then click the Detail button to display the detailed information
about the NE in form of a table, see Figure 3-3.

b. Click the Display Name field of the corresponding NE, see Figure 3-4. The Single
NE View page is displayed.

chart, alarm monitoring, and performance detection.

7. To export NE information, perform the following operations:
Click Export and then select the file type from the drop-down list to save the file locally.
8. To import NEs in batches, perform the following operations:
a. Click the Import button. The Import page is displayed (using Importing by key
parameters as an example).
l Importing by all parameters: A file that includes all parameters of NEs is
used as the importing source. You can obtain the data through the Export
function.
l Importing by key parameters: A file that includes key parameters of NEs is
used as the importing source. You can obtain the data through the To save
template function.
b. Click To save template to save the template locally.
c. Open the Excel template file, and enter key parameters with the specified format.
The IP address and NE type are mandatory parameters.

Note:
IP Address and Net Mask area mandatory parameters. If these two parameters
are not set, the system does not import the data in this line to the EMS system
because it considers that the data in this line is illegal.
It is recommended to set the Telnet Username, Telnet Password, SNMP
Community, and SNMP Write Community parameters at the same time. The
values of these four parameters are entered based on the actual configuration
of the device.

d. Save and close the file after the parameter setting.


e. Return to the Import page, and click Select file to select the Excel template file
configured above.
f. Click the Import button to import the NE to the U31 (ICT) R22 EMS system.
When the progress reaches 100% and Status is Success, it means that the NE
is imported successfully.

g. Click the Import button to import the NE to the U31 (ICT) R22 EMS system.
When the progress reaches 100% and Status is Success, it means that the NE
is imported successfully.
h. Click the Close button to close the Import page.
9. To customize an NE name, perform the following operations:
a. Select the information of an NE and click Custom Name. The Custom Name
page is displayed, see Figure 3-5.

b. Set the parameters and click Execute. The NE name is modified successfully.
10. To modify information about NEs in batches, perform the following operations:
a. Select multiple records, and click More, and then select Batch Modify from the
drop-down list. The Batch Modify page is displayed.
b. Modify SNMP information and CLIC information for NEs in batches.
c. Click the OK button. A message box that displays "Modify Success" is displayed.
d. Click the OK button to close the message box.
11. To configure SNMP V3 users in batches, perform the following operations:
a. Select one or more records, and click More, and then select SNMP V3 from the
drop-down list. The SNMP V3 Batch Create User Information page is displayed.
b. Set the parameters by referring to Table 3-3. The parameter setting must be
consistent with that configured for the NE device.

c. Click Execute after the parameter configuration.

3.2.2 Managing an Interface


This procedure describes how to upload, view, search, and export the basic information
about an interface on the U31 (ICT) R22 EMS system.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Resource > Interface. The Resource page is displayed, see Figure
3-6.

2. To view the interface information, perform the following operations:


Select a record, and click Detail. The page shows the detailed information on the
selected record, see Figure 3-7.

3. To upload the NE interface information, perform the following operations:

b. Select an NE and then click Upload.

3.2.3 Managing an Optical Module


This procedure describes how to upload, query, and export basic information of an optical
module on the U31 (ICT) R22 management system.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS, select Physical Device > IP Device Management >
Resource > Optical. The Optical page is displayed, see Figure 3-9.

a. Click . The page expands to show the detailed information on the optical

3. To upload the optical module information of the NE, perform the following operations:
a. Click Upload. The Upload page is displayed.
b. Select NE Type. Click Upload.
c. After the data is uploaded to the U31 (ICT) R22 management system, click Close.
The page shows the optical module information see Figure 3-9.
If the progress bar reaches 100%, it indicates that the data uploading is completed,
see Figure 3-11.

4. To export the optical module information, perform the following operations:


Click Export, and select a file type from the drop-down list to save the file to the local
PC.

5. To query the optical module information, perform the following operations:


a. Click Query. The Query page is displayed, see Figure 3-12.

b. Enter the Port name, and then click OK.


The system shows the query he IP address management results that meet the
conditions.

1. On the home page of the EMS, select Physical Device > IP Device Management >
Resource > Link. The Link page is displayed, see Figure 3-13.

2. To create a link, perform the following operations:


a. Click the Create button. The Create page is displayed.
b. Set the parameters. For a description of the parameters, refer to Table 3-4.

Ethernet link, 1000M Ethernet link, 10000M Ethernet link,

link, logical link, IP_AN link, IP_NGN link and IP_IT Server Link.
IP_AN link and IP_NGN link are the links between the IP network
management system and other dedicated network management
systems. IP_IT Server link is the link between the IP network
management system and servers.

A NE Name of the NE on one end of the link.

A NE Port Select a port connecting NE A.

Z NE Name of the equipment on the other end of the link.

Z NE Port Select a port connecting NE Z.


NE A and NE Z cannot be the same NE.

Link Status Options: Linked and Broken.

c. Click OK after the parameter setting.


3. To modify a link, perform the following operations:
a. Select a link and click Modify. The Modify page is displayed.
b. The Modify page is displayed. Only Link Name, Link Status, and Checked By
can be modified. Other parameters cannot be modified.
c. Click OK.
4. To query the information on a link, perform the following operations:

a. Click Search. A page is displayed, see Figure 3-14.

b. Select Link Status or Link Type.


c. Click OK. The page shows the query results that meed the conditions.
5. To manually upload a link, perform the following operations:

a. Click Upload. The Upload page is displayed.


b. Select an NE and then click Upload.
c. Click Close when the data is uploaded to the U31 (ICT) R22 EMS system.
6. To export/import a link, perform the following operations:
a. Click Export and then select the file type from the drop-down list to save the file
locally.
b. Open the saved file, and enter key parameters with the specified format (using .xls
file as an example), see Figure 3-15.

c. Save and close the file after the parameter setting.


d. Click the Import button. The Import page is displayed.
e. Click Select file to select the template file configured above.
At present, you can only import files in .xls format, .xlsx format, or .csv format. The
repeated data is updated automatically, and new links are created.

f. Click the Import button to import link information to the U31 (ICT) R22 NM system.
When the progress reaches 100%, it means that the link is imported successfully,
see Figure 3-16.

g. Click Close. The Import page is closed.


7. To configure the automatic link discovery function, perform the following operations:
a. Click Link Discovery Configuration. The Link Discovery Configuration page
is displayed.
b. Select the Link auto discovery check box to configure the Periodic task
interval(min) parameter.
By default, the discovery interval is 60 minutes, which means that the system
enables the automatic link discovery function every 60 minutes.
c. Click OK.

3.3 Device Configuration Management


3.3.1 Managing Configuration Files
This procedure describes how to manage configuration files of an NE on the EMS system.
You can perform the following operations:
l Backing up configuration files
l Deploying configuration files
l Restarting an NE

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Device Configuration. The Device Configuration page is
displayed.
Backing up Configuration Files of NEs
2. Select one or more NEs to be backed up, and then click Backup. The Create Back-up
Configure File Task message box is displayed, see Figure 3-31.

3. (Optional) Click More. The Create Back-up configure File Task page is displayed,
see Figure 3-32. On the page, you can set the management manner and customize
the task scheduling time.

Deploying Configuration Files of NEs
6. Select one or more NEs to be deployed, and then click the Restore button. The Create
Deploy Configuration File Task page is displayed.
Before you deploy a configuration file, you must ensure that the configuration file of the
corresponding NE exists in the configuration file database. If not, you must manually
upload the configuration file of the NE to the configuration file database or deploy the
configuration again after creating a configuration file backup task.
7. Set the parameters for the task, see Figure 3-33.

Restarting an NE
10. Select one or more NEs to be restarted, and then click Reboot. The Reboot NE page
is displayed.
11. Set the Timer Task Settings parameter. There are three options, Run now task,
Scheduled task, and Periodic task.
12. Click OK. The Confirm dialog box that displays "Confirm to reboot the system of these
NEs?" is displayed.

13. Click the OK button. A message box that displays "Create Success" is displayed.
14. Click the OK button to close the message box.
After that, you can view the task status and operation result by referring to 3.3.2
Managing Configured Operation Tasks.

3.3.2 Managing Configured Operation Tasks


This procedure describes how to manage configured operation tasks on the EMS system.
You can perform the following operations:

Management > Device Configuration > Task. The Task page is displayed.
2. Click the Refresh button to view the last operation result, task status, and task category
of an operation task, see Figure 3-34.

This procedure describes how to manage the configuration file database on the EMS
system. You can perform the following operations:

1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Device Configuration > File Library. The File Library page is
displayed.
2. Download Configuration Files from the Configuration File Database Locally.
a. Select one or more files, and then click Download. The Download File page is
displayed.
b. Click OK. The files are downloaded locally.
3. Uploading Local Configuration Files to the Configuration File Database.
a. Click Upload. The Upload File page is displayed.
b. Select an NE and the corresponding configuration files to be uploaded, see Figure
3-35.

c. After the parameter setting, click Upload. A message box that displays "Upload

3.4 Device Software Management


3.4.1 Managing the Device Software
This procedure describes how to manage device software in the EMS system. You can
perform the following operations:
l Backing up the device software
l Upgrading the device software
l Restarting devices.

Steps
Backing up the Device Software

1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Device Software. The Device Software page is displayed.
2. Select one or more NEs to be backed up, and then click Backup. The Create Back-up
Device Software Task message box is displayed, see Figure 3-37.

5. Click the OK button to close the message box.
Upgrading the Device Software
6. Select an NE and then click Restore. The Create Deploy Device Software Task
page is displayed.

Note:
If multiple NEs are selected for upgrade in batches, the selected NEs must be of the
same series. Otherwise, the upgrade operation cannot be implemented.

7. Set parameters for the task, see Figure 3-39.

NEs?" is displayed.
13. Click the OK button. A message box that displays "Create Success" is displayed.
14. Click the OK button to close the message box.

1. On the home page of the EMS system, select IP Device Management. The IP Device
Management page is displayed. Select IP Device Management > Device Software

2. Click the Refresh button to view the last operation result and task status of an
operation task, see Figure 3-40.

3. Select one or more tasks, and then click Run to operate the tasks immediately.

3.5 Intelligent Configuration Management


3.5.1 Overview
The intelligent configuration management function provides a simple method to users.
With this simple method, users can save common commands to a template. The template
is configured with different parameters and it is used for the quick configuration of different
devices.

3.5.2 Creating a Common Template Class


The U31 (ICT) R22 system provides the common template class function. With this
function, templates can be managed based on the class.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Smart Configuration. The Smart Configuration page is displayed.
2. Click Templates. The Templates page is displayed.
3. Click Create Sort. The Create page is displayed.
4. Set the Sort Name parameter, and then click OK. A template class is created, see
Figure 3-43.

By default, the system creates the Sort of Basic Configuration template class. This
template class cannot be modified or deleted.

function, users can customize a template based on the requirements of each application.

1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Smart Configuration. The Smart Configuration page is displayed.
2. Click Create Template. The Create Template page is displayed.
3. Set the Template Name, Sort of Template, Ne Type, Ne Version, and Description
parameters, see Figure 3-45.

these two parameters for each script.
b. (Optional) In the Script Parameters area, click the Parameter Name field of a
script, such as IP Address, to set the Minimum, Maximum, Enum items for this
parameter on the displayed page.
6. Click Finish. The template is created, see Figure 3-48.

3.5.4 Creating a Task


A task template is configured with different parameters, and it is used for the quick

Prerequisite
The system has a general template.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Smart Configuration. The Smart Configuration page is displayed.

2. Click Create Task. The Create Task page is displayed.


3. Select the template type, including Common Template and My Collections, and then
click Refresh to refresh the template list.

4. Select a template that requires creating a task, and then click Next. The Set
Parameter page is displayed.
5. Set the Task Name and Select Ne parameters.

The default format of the task name is template name-YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS,


for example, test123--2014-08-25 15:55:01.

6. After the parameter setting, click Next. The following page is displayed, see Figure
3-49.

7. Click the column where the IP Address and Mask are located, and enter the
corresponding parameters.
8. Set the Timer Task Settings parameter to Run now task, Scheduled task, Periodic
task, or Manual execution task, and then click Finish. The task is created, see
Figure 3-50.

9. Click a task in the Task Name field. The Task List page that displays the operation of
each sub-task is displayed, see Figure 3-51.

3.5.5 Browsing a Task


After a task is created, you can view the task status, sub-tasks, and the used task template,
and you can also modify the task parameters or view task scripts as required.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Smart Configuration. The Smart Configuration page is displayed.
2. Click View Tasks. The Task List page is displayed, see Figure 3-52.

l Click Script to preview scripts on the displayed View Script page.

3.6 Resource Statistics


3.6.1 Performing Slot Statistics
This procedure describes how to perform statistics on the slots of an NE.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Statistics. The system displays the Slot page by default.
2. Select a record, and then click Detail. The slot usage of the selected NE is displayed
in table form.
3. Click Export and then select the file type from the drop-down list to save the file locally.

3.7 Managing an IP Address


The IP address management function is used to manage all the IP resources on the U31
(ICT) R22 management system through automatic scanning and discovery and manual
creation.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS, select Physical Device > IP Device Management >
IP Address Management. The IP Address Management page is displayed.
2. Automatically scan for discovering the IP resources.
a. Click Scan IP Address > Scan Now. The Creating Scan Task Result page is
displayed, showing Create the task of scanning IP address successes.
b. Click Close. The home page of the system shows the scanning progress. When
Scanning is over is displayed, the scanning results are displayed, see Figure
3-54.

Select an IP record, and perform the following operations in the operation column:
l Click Add IP Address to manually add IP resources.
l Click Modify to manually modify the description of the current IP resource.

e. Add IP Address and IP Mask for the selected interface, and click Next.
f. Repeat Steps c. through e. to create the interface on the other end.
g. Click Next. The Preview & Deploy page is displayed, showing the configuration
information of the two NEs.
h. Click Deploy.
If the system indicates that an error exists, the properties are configured
improperly, you shall modify the parameters as required.
3. Query an L3VPN service.
a. Click Query.
b. Enter Service Name, and click OK.
The page shows the services that meet the conditions.
4. Delete an L3VPN service.
Select a service record:
l Click Network Side Delete to delete the VRF data from the EMS, but the VRF
data still exists in the equipment.
l Click NE Side Delete to delete the VRF data from both the EMS and the
equipment. The VRF data does not exist on the EMS or the equipment.
5. Export service reports.
Select one or multiple service records, and click Report.
The system automatically exports service records to the local PC. The records are
exported in a .xls file by default.

6. To discover the L3VPN services automatically, perform the following operations:


a. Click Auto Discover. The Auto Discover page is displayed.
b. Select Discover Scope, including All NE, Select NE and Upload all. Click Auto
Discover.
The automatically discovered L3VPN services are displayed.
7. Process service alarms.
When a service alarm is generated, the alarm level is displayed in the Severity column.
8. To view service performance, perform the following operations:
In the service list, click . The Performance page is displayed. View the service
performance, including interface performance and VRF performance.
l Click to set the indexes and queried objects displayed on the graph.
l Click to save the current performance graph as an image.

9. To diagnose faults, perform the following operations:


Click . The Fault Diagnosis page is displayed.
l Fault query.
Query faults according to the Link Type, Source NE, Source IP, Destination NE
and Destination IP.
l Rapid diagnosis.
In the Diagnosis Item area, select ICMP Ping, VRF Ping, LSP Ping, ICMP Trace,
VRF Trace or LSP Trace as required.
l Diagnosis result.
In the Diagnosis Result area, view the diagnosis result.

3.9 Managing a Ping Task


In the U31 (ICT) R22 management system, you can manage a Ping detection task,
configure the ping check task threshold, and check the ping detection topology.

Steps
Configuring a Ping Detection Task

1. On the home page of the EMS, select Physical Device > IP Device Management >
Ping Task. The Ping Task page is displayed.

2. Add a Ping detection task.

a. Click Add, see Figure 3-63.

Type of Task can be set to network element to network element ping task,
network Management System to network element ping task, Import by Link,
or Import all Link.

b. Click OK.
After a task is added, the task is displayed in the Ping Task window.
l If the detection result is smaller than the threshold preset in the template, the
Task Status column is displayed green.
l If the detection result is larger than the threshold preset in the template, the
Task Status column is displayed red.
In the table at the bottom of the Ping Task window, Ping Task Report Time
and Packet Loss Rate are displayed.
3. Add multiple ping detection tasks.
a. Click the Import with Excel button. The Import Ping Task With Excel page is
displayed.

b. Click the DownLoad Mould button to download the template to a local disk.
c. Open the template file, and set multiple tasks in the format required by the template
and save the tasks.
All fields in the template are required.
d. Click the Select File button and click UpLoad to upload the task file to the system.
After the file is imported, the detection tasks are displayed in the Ping Task
window.

4. Query a Ping task.


a. Click Query.

This procedure describes how to manage module-related tasks on the U31 (ICT) R22
system.

Context
A total of 10 tasks are predefined in the U31 (ICT) R22 system, including the following: AC
Upload Task, AP Upload Task, SSID Upload Task, UserInfo Upload Task, Interface Upload
Task, Rack Upload Task, Shelf Upload Task, Slot/Board Upload Task, Sub Slot/Board
Upload Task, and System Unit Upload Task.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Task Management. The Task Management page is displayed, see
Figure 3-66.

2. Select one or more tasks, and click Start or Stop.


The Prompt dialog box is displayed.
3. In the text box, enter Y or N, and click OK.
The Task Status parameter changes.

5. Modify the First Execute Time and Execute Circle parameters as required, and click
OK.
The Task Name parameter cannot be modified.
Range of the Execute Circle parameter: 30 minutes to 30 days.

3.11 Setting the Report Period Export


The report period export setting function is used to configure the period for exporting
reports in the U31 (ICT) R22 management system, including time scheduling, file location,
forwarding setting, and customized report setting.

1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Report Period Export Setting. The Report Period Export Setting
page is displayed.
2. (Optional) Click Open Auto Export Report. The system automatically exports reports
according to the settings.

4. Set the location for saving the files.

Password, and FTP Directory.
l Click Email Forward, select Enable, and set Email Address and Email Title.
6. Sets customized reports.
Sets the ranges of File Type and Report Statistics.
l File Type: CSV, EXCEL, HTML and PDF.
l Report Statistics: NE, Board, Sub Board, Interface, Optical, PM, FM ,VLAN Port,
AC Info, AP Info, SSID Info or Terminal Info.
7. (Optional) Click Upload from device (Default get from database). The system
obtains data from the equipment.
8. Click OK.

3.12 Managing the IP Topology


In the U31 (ICT) R22 management system, the IP topology management function can
synchronize NE information to the topology of the EMS for unified management.

Prerequisite
The NE information in every IP address segment has been scanned in IP Address
Management.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS, select Physical Device > IP Device Management >
IP Topology. The IP Topology page is displayed, see Figure 3-67.

The IP Topology page is a popup page. If the page is not displayed after you select
the corresponding menus, modify the setting on the address bar to display the blocked

2. Click an address. The NE information of the IP address is displayed in the right pane.
Click the following icons to perform the following operations:

l Click to select an item that you want to view.


l Click to move an NE in the topology.
l Click to zoom in on an NE in the topology.

Management > Device dot1x Userinformation Management. The Device dot1x

Single NE View Management
A single NE view involves the resource management, configuration management, and tool
management of a single NE. It facilitates the NE management.
To display the Single NE View page, perform one of the following operations:
Operation 1:

1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > IP Device
Management > Resource > NE. The NE page is displayed.
2. Click the Display Name field of an NE. The Single NE View page is displayed.

Operation 2:
1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Monitor > Topology > Physical
Topology. The Physical Topology page is displayed.
2. Select an NE, click the icon next to the NE, and then select Single NE View from
the displayed shortcut menu. The Single NE View page is displayed.

4.1.2 Viewing the Rack Chart Page


A rack chart page displays the physical rack and information about physical resources,
including the rack, shelves, boards, ports, and their operation statuses.

Steps
1. On the Single NE View page, select View > Rack Chart. The Rack Chart page is
displayed.

2. Click the corresponding icon on the toolbar to perform the corresponding operations
on the rack chart.
For the button name and function of each button, refer to the following table.

Name Function

Selects a port or slot of the NE from the rack chart.

Zoom in: magnifies the rack chart.

Zoom out: reduces the rack chart.

Restore: restores the rack chart.

Full-view: Shows the full view of the rack.

Displays the rack chart in full screen mode.

Exports the rack chart.

Refreshes the rack chart.

This icon is displayed when legends are displayed.


Hides legends.

3. Right-click a component in the rack chart, and then select Query Current Alarm,
Query Performance, Show Interface or Show Optical Info from the shortcut menu.

is in grey, and the Acknowledge parameter is highlighted.

4.2.1 Managing Interfaces
This procedure describes how to upload, modify, and export Ethernet physical interfaces
and logical interfaces.

Steps
Configuring the Ethernet Physical Ports
1. On the Single NE View page, select Config > Interface. The Ethernet Interface
page is displayed.
2. To upload the interface information, perform the following operations:
a. Click Upload. The Upload page is displayed.
b. Click Upload to upload the data.
c. Click Close when the data is uploaded to the U31 (ICT) R22 EMS system.
After the data upload, the Operate Result field displays the number of added,
modified, and deleted interfaces.
3. To modify the interface information, perform the following operations:
a. Select an interface record, and then click the Modify button. The Modify page is
displayed.
b. Modify interface parameters, and then click OK to save the modification.
4. To export the interface information, perform the following operations:
Click Export and then select the file type from the drop-down list to save the file locally.
Configuring Logical Interfaces
5. To create a logical interface, perform the following operations:
a. Click Logic Interface. The Logic Interface page is displayed.
b. Click Create. The Create page for creating a logical interface is displayed.
c. Configure the related parameters with reference to Table 4-1.

c. After the data is uploaded to the U31 (ICT) R22 management system, click Close.
After the upload is completed, the Operate Result column shows the numbers of
added, modified, and deleted interfaces on the NE.
7. To export the logical interface information, perform the following operation:
Click Export, and select a file type from the drop-down list to save the file to the local
PC.

4.2.2 Managing the VLAN


With the Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) technology, you can divide a physical LAN
into different VLANs logically in accordance with application requirements. All broadcast
and unicast traffic in a VLAN are not forwarded to other VLANs.
This function applies for switches.

Steps
l Configuring a VLAN Interface.
1. On the Single NE View page, select Config > VLAN Management. The VLAN
Port Configuration page is displayed.

2. Click NE Upload. The Upload page is displayed.


3. Click Upload to upload the data.

4. Click Close when the data is uploaded to the U31 (ICT) R22 EMS system.

After the data upload, the Operation Result field displays the added, modified,
and deleted VLAN ports of the NE.

5. Select the VLAN port to be modified, and then click Batch Modify. The Batch
modify VLAN port configuration page is displayed.
6. Set the link mode, PVID, Tagged VLAN, and Untagged VLAN of the selected ports
in batches, and then click OK.
l Configuring a VLAN
1. On the Single NE View page, select Config > VLAN Management. The VLAN
Port Configuration page is displayed.
2. Click More Operating on the upper right corner, select VLAN Configuration. The
VLAN Configuration page is displayed.

3. Click NE Upload. The Upload page is displayed.


4. Click Upload to upload the data.
5. Click Close when the data is uploaded to the U31 (ICT) R22 EMS system.

After the data upload, the Operation Result field displays the added, modified,
and deleted VLAN ports of the NE.

4.2.3 Managing an ACL


ACL is used to filter data packets, implement policy-based routing, and control special
traffic. One ACL can contain one or more rules for the data packets of a specific type.
These rules determine whether to accept the data packets that match with the standard
specified in the rules.
You can bind an ACL with a physical port. After the ACL is bound successfully, the physical
port filters data packets in accordance with the ACL rule.
The ZXR10 T8000/M6000 series routers, ZXR10 M6000–E series routers, ZXR10
M6000–nS series routers, ZXR10 6800 series routers, ZXR10 5250 series switches,
ZXR10 9900 Series IDC Core Switch, ZXR10 5900 series switches, ZXR10 3900A/3900
series switches, ZXR10 5960 series switches, ZXR10 8900/8900E series switches,
ZXR10 6900 series switches and ZXCTN 9000E Series PTN Product support this function.

Steps
1. On the Single NE View page, select Config > ACL. The ACL Config page is
displayed.

2. To create an ACL, perform the following operations:

a. On the ACL Config page is displayed. Click the Create button. The Create page
is displayed see Figure 4-3.

3. To query the ACL settings, perform the following operations:
a. Click Search. The page shows the query conditions.
b. Enter a name in the ACL Name text box. Click OK.
The page shows the query results that meet the conditions.
4. To upload the ACL configuration information, perform the following operations:
Click Upload to synchronize the ACL configuration information from the NE to the
EMS.
ACL Bind
5. Click the ACL Bind tab. The ACL Bind page is displayed.
6. To create an ACL binding entry, perform the following operations:
a. Click Create. The Create page is displayed.
b. Select Interface, ACL, and direction.

Note:

An ACL must be configured before the ACL binding is configured. Otherwise, no


ACL can be selected.

c. Click OK The ACL binding is created, see Figure 4-7.

Click Upload to synchronize the ACL binding information from the NE to the EMS.

4.2.4 Managing ARP Table


ARP table management is used to manage the ARP tables in the U31 (ICT) R22
management system, including creating, modifying, querying, and solidifying ARP tables.

Prerequisite
VALN interfaces exist in the EMS.

Steps
1. On the Single NE View page, select Config > ARP. The ARP page is displayed.
2. To create an ARP table, perform the following operations:

a. Click Create. The Create page is displayed.

Note:

You can create only Permanent entries. The Host and Dynamic entries are
generated automatically.

b. Configure the related parameters. For a description of parameters, refer to Table


4-3.

4. To modify an ARP entry, perform the following operations:


a. Select a Permanent ARP entry. Click Modify or .
b. Modify the MacAddress, and click OK.
Only the MacAddress value can be modified. Other parameters cannot be
modified.
Only Permanent ARP entries can be modified. The ARP entries of other types
cannot be modified.
5. To delete an ARP entry, perform the following operations:
a. Select a Permanent ARP entry. Click Delete or .

b. A confirmation dialog box is displayed. Click OK.


Only Permanent ARP entries can be deleted. The ARP entries of other types
cannot be deleted.
6. To solidify an ARP entry, perform the following operations:

a. Select a Dynamic ARP entry. Click Solidify or . The Solidify page is


displayed.

b. In the Solidify page, set IfName and OutVlan.

c. Click OK.
After the entry is solidified, the Dynamic entry is changed to Permanent.

4.2.5 Configuring the CAR Limit


When the specified traffic conditions are met (for example, if the traffic over a connection
is too large), the corresponding traffic policing action is taken (discarding packets or
re-configuring the priority of packets). The Committed Access Rate (CAR) can not only
control traffic but also mark or remark packets.
This function is applicable to the ZXR10 M6000-S, ZXR10 6800, and ZXR10 6800E series
routers.

Steps
1. On the Single NE View page, select Config > CAR Limit. The CAR Limit page is
displayed.
2. To create a CAR limit, perform the following operations:
a. Click Add. The CAR Limit Configuration Information page is displayed.
b. Configure the related parameters. For a description of parameters, refer to Table
4-4.

4.2.6 Managing the PoE


Power over Ethernet (PoE) is an extended feature of the network devices with Ethernet
electrical ports. The devices, such as switches and routers, can supply power to remote
power-receiving devices (PDs), such as IP phones, WLAN APs, and network cameras,
through twisted pairs. This function implements remote power supply.
The ZXR10 5250-52PM, ZXR10 2910E-PS, ZXR10 2918E-PS, ZXR10 2950-18PC,
ZXR10 2950-10PC, ZXR10 2950-28PM, and ZXR10 2928E-PS support this function.

Steps
1. On the Single NE View page, select Config > POE. The POE page is displayed.
2. Click Upload to upload the POE information of an NE to the U31 (ICT) R22 system.
3. Configure global parameters for the POE.
4. Select an interface configuration, and then click Modify. The Modify Interface
Configuration page is displayed.
5. Modify the interface management status, and then click OK.

9. Configure the restart option, management mode, and execution mode, and then click
OK.
The system displays the Message dialog box.
10. Click the OK button to close the message box.
11. Click Refresh. The task operation result is displayed in the Task area.
Deploying Local Configuration Files
12. Click Upload. The Upload File page is displayed.
13. Click Select File to select a local file to be uploaded, and then click Upload. A
message box that displays Upload file successful is displayed.
14. Click the OK button to close the message box.
15. In the File Library area, click restore next to a record of the NE. The Create Deploy
Configuration File Task page is displayed.
16. Configure the restart option, management mode, and execution mode, and then click
OK. A message box that displays "Create task successful! Please click refresh button"
is displayed.
17. Click the OK button to close the message box.
18. Click Refresh. The task operation result is displayed in the Task area.

4.2.8 Saving Device Configurations


After a device is restarted, the source configurations of the device are lost. This procedure
describes how to save the source configurations of a device to the flash to ensure that the
source configuration is still valid after the device is restarted.

a. Click Upload. The Upload page is displayed.


b. Click Upload. The system automatically uploads the local L3VPN service, see

4.3 Managing Tools


This function involves common detection tools, Telnet/SSH tools, and built-in Web service
tools.

Steps
l Opening the Telnet/SSH Tool.
1. On the Single NE View page, select Tool > Telnet/SSH. The Telnet/SSH page is
displayed. The system automatically logs in to the NE.
If the system cannot automatically log in to the network element, you can manually
enter the username and password or select IP Device Management > Resource
from the home page of the EMS system. On the Resource page, modify the CLI
attributes and then open the Telnet/SSH page.
l Performing the SNMP Ping Detection.
1. On the Single NE View page, select Tool > SNMP Ping. The SNMP Ping page
is displayed.
2. Configure SNMP ping detection parameters.
For a description of the parameters, refer to the following table.

Parameter Description

SNMP Port SNMP port number.

SNMP Version SNMP version number (v1, v2c, or v3).

Read Community SNMP read community.

Write Community SNMP write community.

1. On the Single NE View page, select Tool > Mng Tracert. The Mng Tracert page

2. Click the Execute button. The system starts to detect the NE management
configurations. When the Detect Status field is Done, you can check the NE

Enable indicates that the NE status is normal, and Disable indicates that the NE
status is abnormal, see Figure 4-10.

The red Disable shows an abnormal status, and the green Enable shows a normal
status.
The parameters are described as follows:

Parameter Description

SNMP Read Status The normal status is Enable, indicating that the equipment is
connected properly, and the community is configured the same
as the equipment.

SNMP Write Status The normal status is Enable, indicating that the community is
configured the same as the equipment.

CLI Status The CLI status determines whether some command line access
is normal, such as equipment check and upgrade in batches.

l Uploading NE Data.
1. On the Single NE View page, select Tool > NE Upload. The NE Upload page is
displayed.
2. Click Select to select NE resources to be uploaded.

l Enabling/Disabling Built-in Web Services.
On the U31 (ICT) R22 system, only low-end switches support the built-in Web service,
and other NEs do not support the built-in Web service.
1. On the Single NE View page, select Tool > Device WEB. The Device WEB page
is displayed.
2. Enter the username and password to log in to the Web user login page of the NE,
see Figure 4-11.

l Using the SNMP Tool


You can obtain MIB information based on OIDs on the U31 (ICT) R22 system.
1. On the Single NE View page, select Tool > SNMP Tool. The SNMP Tool page

2. Click Show SNMP config. The SNMP configuration is displayed, see Figure 4-13.

3. Set the OID and Operation parameters, and click Execute. The OID information
is displayed in the SNMP Result area.
Operation options: Get, GetNext, and Walk.
Get: obtains the MIB value of a specified OID.
GetNext: obtains the next MIB value. If the OID is a table, the first value in the
table is returned.
Walk: obtains all the MIB values under a specified OID.

4. Click to modify the NE IP address.

5. Click to add the MIB node to your favorites.


6. In the Mib Nodes area, click Add to add a MIB node.
7. Select a MIB node and click Modify to modify the MIB node information.
8. Select one or more MIB nodes and click Delete to delete the MIB nodes.

4.4.1 Managing Virtual Devices
This function creates and manages virtual devices, including virtual firewalls, internet
behavior management, WAN Optimization(Low/High), IPPBX and virtual ACs.

becomes red, it indicates that the board management channel is closed. Open the
channel and try to connect them again.
2. Click . The Virtual Value Added Service Management page is displayed.

You can set Service Chain Sence Type to VFW/Internet Management or VWANO.
Only these two options support the service chain function.

7.1 Managing the Portal


In the U31 (ICT) R22 management system, the portal management function provides
20 types of charts, including AP on Site(TOP5), Alarm Statistic, CPU Utiliaztion(TOP5),
Memory Utilization(TOP5), InTraffic(TOP5), and OutTraffic(TOP5). You can query query
Site Num, Online AC/Total AC, Online AP/Total AP, and Online STA.
This function is applicable only to the AC equipment.

Steps
1. On the home page of the EMS system, select Physical Device > WLAN Management
> Portal. The Portal page is displayed.
2. Query the number of sites, number of online/total ACs, number of online/total APs,
and number of online terminals on the top of the page, see Figure 7-1.

3. At the bottom of the Portal page, 20 charts are displayed. Click Display Setting to
set the charts displayed on the page, see Figure 7-2.

7.2 Resource Management


In the U31 (ICT) R22 management system, the resource management can manage
ACResource, AP Resource, User Info, User History Info and SSID Info.
This function is applicable only to the AC equipment.

7.2.1 Managing AC Resources


This procedure describes how to manage AC device information on the U31 (ICT) R22
system.

Context
AC Resource shows the NE data, which is synchronized from the device side. If an AC
device is added by selecting IP Device Management > Resource > NE and the SNMP
can be pinged on the device. At this time, the OMM automatically upload the AC device
information to the AC Resource page.

Steps
1. Click WLAN Management > Resource Management. The AC Resource page is
displayed by default.

2. On the AC Resource page, the basic information about the current AC device is
displayed, see Figure 7-4.

3. Click Display Name. The NE details are displayed, see Figure 7-5.

corresponding AC resource record and click Web Manage.

8. (Optional) Click Reboot. The Tip dialog box is displayed. Restart the selected device.
9. (Optional) Click Restore default settings. The Tip dialog box is displayed. Perform
a factory reset operation on the selected device.
On the Tip page, enter Y or N to confirm whether to perform the factory reset operation.
10. (Optional) To open the single NE view of the device, click Config.

11. (Optional) To jump to the analog panel of a device, select the corresponding AC

7. (Optional) Click Delete to delete the basic information about the selected device.

8. (Optional) Click Add to add the basic information about the AP device.
9. (Optional) Select a record, and click Modify to modify the group.

10. (Optional) Select a record, and click Update to update the selected record.
11. (Optional) Select a record, and click View Topology. The device topology is displayed.

12. (Optional) Select a record, and click Bandwidth Usage. The Bandwidth Utilization

7.3 Managing Location Planning and Design


In the U31 (ICT) R22 management system, the topology plan management independently
manage AP topology structure. You can add a group, bind an AP, or unbind an AP.
This function is applicable only to the AP equipment.

Steps
Table View
1. Click Physical Device > WLAN Management > Location Planning And Design.
The Table View page is displayed by default.
2. On the Table View page, select ZTE WLAN Network. Click Add Group. The Add
Group dialog box is displayed, see Figure 7-17.

3. Set Group Name, Parent Group, and Group Type. Click Confirm.
l Parent Group: Select the upper-layer organization of the new group.
l Group Type: Location or Site.
A location or site can be established under a location, while a layer can be
mounted to a site. AP settings can be only mounted to the layer of a site or to
a site rather than to a location.
4. Select a site in the left navigation tree, and click Bind AP. The AP Resource page is
displayed.
On the AP Resource page, unbound AP resources are displayed.The information is
from the AP resource information in WLAN Management > Resource Management
> AP Resource page.
5. Select an AP resource and click ok.
6. Select the bound AP resource, and click Unbind AP to unbind the NE.
7. (Optional) Select a site in the left navigation tree, and click Add Virtual AP. The Add
Virtual AP dialog box is displayed, see Figure 7-18.

7.4 Managing Rogue APs


This procedure describes how to manage rogue AP devices on the U31 (ICT) R22 system.
This function is only applicable to AP devices.

Steps
1. Select Physical Device > WLAN Management > Rogue AP. The Rogue AP page is
displayed.
2. In the Scan AP task area, set the Execute timeout(s) and Scan AP MAC parameters,
see Figure 7-23.

3. Click Select AP. The Select AP dialog box is displayed.


4. Select an AP and click OK.

5. Click Create. A scan task is created, see Figure 7-24.

6. Select the task, and click Stop. The scan task is stopped.
7. Click Synchronize Rogue AP. The system automatically synchronizes the rogue AP
information, see Figure 7-25.

8. Set the SSID filter parameter, and click Search. The matching entries are displayed.
9. Click Lookup Wireline Rouge AP. The Wireline Rogue AP page is displayed.

10. Select a record, click Attack, and select Start Attack/Stop Attack. The system
executes the task in accordance with the instruction.

11. (Optional) Click Export to export SSID information and save it as an .xlsx, .csv, or .pdf
file.
12. (Optional) Select Display all rogue AP in attached AC or Only Show Attack. The
matching entries are displayed.

7.5 Managing Alarms


This procedure describes how to manage device alarms on the U31 (ICT) R22 system.
This function is only applicable to AP devices.

Steps
1. Select Physical Device > WLAN Management > Alarm Setting. The Alarm Setting
page is displayed.

2. Select an NE from the list. The NE alarms are displayed.
