Uma sa Taba Carmen, Davao del Norte

Davao del Norte province is well known for banana capital of the Philippines and
it is became the main sources of living. This gives a major contribution in agriculture
sector however tourism industry also growing such as beaches, heritage parks,
restaurants and many more. As a tourism student me and my group mates decided to
choose Uma sa taba in Carmen for the same reason we never been there and it feels
like the site has something to be proud of and yes! The place is very astounding and not
expensive.

According to our research, Carmen where Uma sa Taba can be located is a 1 st


class municipality in Davao del Norte, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has
a population of 74,679 people. It is about 38 kilometers from Davao City, 17 kilometers
from Tagum City and 10 kilometers away from Panabo City. When the Philippines was
shaken by World War II, Filipinos buckled down and joined military units that resisted
the Japanese invaders. In, Carmen, locals fought the war and drove away the Japanese
army. The veterans Memorial Shrine, just along the national highway has a brief history
and some of the names of those participated and has become a tourist attraction in
Carmen not just only the Uma sa Taba.

Assessment
Name of the chosen eco park:
-Uma sa Taba one of the ecotourism site in Carmen Davao del Norte which is 10
Kilometres away from Panabo City. It is a hidden attraction that you can enjoy the
beauty of nature perfect for family gatherings, friends and couples. The entrance fee is
free so you can really enjoy the site by not spending too much. The staff also is
approachable which is one of the good factor in the site.
How well the ecopark can adequately protected from visitors impacts?

- At the main entrance, we noticed this spacious and spot-crisp in its beautiful
landscape. The place is not just beautiful at the same time they promote responsible
tourist wherein they have reminders to be followed. Here are some reminders, First,
kids must always keep visible. Help to preserve mother nature so smoking is not
allowed and alcohol beverages inside. Help and observed cleanliness around rented
cottage and put your trash at the proper garbage bin. No picking of flowers and return
fishing rods after used. Keep an eye on your valuables because management is no
responsibility for that loss. There rules can protect visitors impact and teaches tourist
how to be responsible enough.
