You can help yourself identify numerical data by seeing if you can average or order the data in either ascending or descending order. Numeric data types are numbers stored in database columns. These data types are typically grouped by: Exact numeric types, values where the precision and scale need to be preserved. The exact numeric types are INTEGER, BIGINT, DECIMAL, NUMERIC, NUMBER, and MONEY Numerical data is information that is something that is measurable. It is always collected in number form, although there are other types of data that can appear in number form. An example of numerical data would be the number of people that attended the movie theater over the course of a month. Alpha numeric data Alphanumeric, also referred to as alphanumeric, is a term that encompasses all of the letters and numerals in a given language set. In layouts designed for English language users, alphanumeric characters are those comprised of the combined set of the 26 alphabetic characters, A to Z, and the 10 Arabic numerals, 0 to 9. Alphanumeric is a description of data that is both letters and numbers. For example, "1a2b3c" is a short string of alphanumeric characters. Alphanumeric is commonly used to help explain the availability of text that can be entered or used in a field such as an alphanumeric password. In some usages, the alphanumeric character set may include upper and lower case letters, punctuation marks and symbols (such as @, &, and *, forexample). For languages other than English, alphanumeric characters include letter variations such as € and ¢.
