Design Information

Cooling
1. Blank flange screens or strainers with 0.1 mm mesh must be installed at all
interfaces where fluids enter the engine. It can be removed a month or so after
startup if so desired. But, it needs to be installed prior to flushing and filling the
cooling loop. This is to prevent any foreign material from entering the engine from
construction. These are supplied by the customer
2. Flow Regulation Valves are recommended in the low and high cooling systems to
adjust the flow for the coolant to achieve the specified engine temperatures per the
Technical Description. These are supplied by the customer
3. Shut-Off Valves are recommended for the Thermostatic Valves at each port, the
Cooling Pumps and any other accessory for future maintenance so that the lines do
not have to be drained for maintenance. These are supplied by the customer.
4. The pipes for the exhaust and cooling are to be supported so that the Flex
Connections do not support any of the pipe weight.
5. Recommended that a Temperature Gauge be placed at the inlet and outlet ports for
easier observation of running temperatures. These are supplied by the customer.
6. A Pressure Gauge should be placed in both low and high temperature cooling
circuits for observation of pressurized lines. These are supplied by the customer.
7. The Pressure Switch should be installed and daisy-chained into the DIA.NE panel
along with the auxiliary contacts from the starters and contactors for the pumps and
fans for SSL-19 – Accessories “OK”
8. The pressure of the cooling system is recommended at 15 psi
9. A Ball Valve is recommended to be installed in both the low and high temperature
cooling circuits for draining and coolant testing. These are supplied by the customer
