Watercolor for beginners – Express your creativity

The basics of watercolor are very simple to learn bit it takes practice to master. This course is for
anyone who wants to learn the basics of water coloring. In this course you will you will learn
how to paint with watercolors and use them to create your own illustrations, including various
tips and techniques. You’ll be learning different principles that makes water coloring inspiring,
fun, accessible and apply it to create enchanting watercolor artworks. Over these three days,
you’ll be going through a series of topics that will make water coloring easier for you!

Profile of students who can benefit from the course: This course is for anyone with an interest
in illustrating with watercolors.

List of all the skills the students will get to learn:

 Supplies required for water coloring

 Brush control techniques to create the perfect stroke
 Using watercolor on wet and dry paper
 How to mix colors
 Creating textures using brushes or accessories such as tissues, salts, napkins etc.

REQUIREMENTS

 2B pencil and eraser.

 A box of water watercolor paints, according to your budget.
 Watercolor brushes (round 6 and 10).
 Two jars for water – one jar to be used for cleaning the brush and other for mixing colors.
 A small palette.
 Absorbent kitchen paper.
 Watercolor paper. Preferably 300gsm

As the classes will be conducted on Zoom, you would require

 A smartphone/tablet/laptop.
 Internet connection.
 Download Zoom on your device before the class.

STRUCTURE

Subtopics that will be discussed during sessions:

 Importance of paint supplies – This course will help you understand various collections
of watercolor sets to create your artworks. You’ll also learn about different watercolor
brands that suits your budget.

 Surface materials – Paints are only part of the picture but texture matters when it comes
to choose the right surface for your artwork. You will learn different brand and grain of
paper used for water coloring.
  Brushes for water coloring – You will explore a wide range of brushes used for water
coloring along with types of lines and strokes that you can create with each brush. You
will also learn how to create patterns and textures.

 Watercolor techniques – Once you master the basics, this course will help you learn how
to create textures and patterns with salt, napkins, tissues, etc.

Structure and duration of each session:

Three days (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)

This LIVE course is for beginners to intermediate artists. The duration of this course will be 90
minutes each day via zoom.

NOTE - We have limited 20 seats for this course, so the teacher can pay attention to each and
every student.

It takes practice to get your hands on watercolors. In the final project you will pick one simple
object, and paint it using all the techniques that we learned and upload on the link provided to
you. You will get feedback on your artwork and tips in the last session of this course.

her personal handle to talk about the course.
 A promotional flyer would go out on Instagram and Facebook two weeks prior the
course.
 The course flyers will be shared on Instagram and Facebook stories every alternate day.
 A registration link would be provided on the website for the participants to enroll.
 The course details will also be shared on Instagram Reels.
