HTG - Distribution Equipment - OfficialRelease - V1.0
HTG - Distribution Equipment - OfficialRelease - V1.0
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to describe the general configuration steps required to
manually set up configuration within the system landscape that has already been installed using
the corresponding installation or configuration guides.
This document supplements the existing Customizing documentation in the Implementation
Guide (IMG) and provides additional information where required.
Configuration
The following section describes all of the settings for this building block. These settings fall into
the following three main groups:
• Prerequisite settings that have to be checked and were delivered by SAP (as part of the
standard delivery).
The term Check used in this document refers to these prerequisite settings.
• Settings defined by the customer (customer-specific settings and those used in the
customer namespace).
The system uses automation to request individual customer settings during the
personalization process. These settings can be initial or reused from existing SAP S/4HANA
layers and are indicated in the text by <your value>.
• Additional settings that need to be made either by automation or manual configuration (in
the customer namespace).
The term Create in the text refers to these additional settings.
Use
In this IMG activity, you define the basic data for a warehouse number for Extended Warehouse
Management. For example, weight, volume, time & length units, Default Storage Process Types
for special activities, Determination Procedure for Condition Technique, etc.
The configuration is already in place.
Procedure
1. Access the activity as follows:
IMG Menu SCM Extended Warehouse Management → Extended Warehouse
(EWM) Management → Master Data → Define Warehouse Number Control
Transaction Code SPRO
2. On the Change View "Define Warehouse Number Control": Overview screen, select the
entry for warehouse number BS01.
Remark: all warehouse process types (WPT) starting with “P” e.g. P112 are described in the
preconfigured warehouse processes, see process description here.
Procedure
1. On the SAP Easy Access screen for EWM choose Tools → Customizing → Business
Configuration Sets → Activation of BC Sets (or use transaction SCPR20)
2. Activate the following BC Sets:

Use
Besides generating activity areas from storage types (see next chapter) there are some activity
areas which need to be defined explicitly.
Caution: The destination of a distribution equipment e.g. a tugger train shall be only within one
single activity area. Otherwise the concept of having one single unloading warehouse order for
a distribution equipment will break.
Furthermore the bin sorting is only unique within an activity area. As the stops of the distribution
area are sorted by the destination storage bins the stop sequence will not be optimal if the
destination storage bins of a distribution equipment are assigned to different activity areas.
Procedure
1. Access the activity as follows:
IMG Menu SCM Extended Warehouse Management → Extended Warehouse

Test Cases
The following test cases demonstrate the use of Distribution Equipment
Pre-requisite
You need to upload stock of your products into the warehouse in order to have stock available for
staging of the components to production. You can use the csv-file ISU_PRODINT_05.csv attached to
note 1888397 as an example template for the stock upload.
*Note
It might be necessary to change the data of the csv-file according to the data that fits to your
preconfigured warehouse, e.g. owner and entitled. See also note 974852 for further information
about stock upload via transaction /SCWM/ISU.
Procedure
1. In the easy access menu of EWM choose Extended Warehouse Management → Interfaces →
Data Upload → Stock Data Transfer
2. Enter warehouse number W002 and choose Local File
3. Press pushbutton Open Folder
4. Select the adapted file “ISU_PRODINT_05.csv”
5. Press Upload
6. In case of a green status press Start Stock Data Transfer

Description
Purpose of the test case:
The goal of this testcase is to verify that RF-Picking for the Rack-Picking, the loading of a distribution
Equipment and the unloading of the Distribution Equipment is working.
Possible business scenario:
In the rack picking scenario a warehouse operator will do a picking tour to pick several items from different
source bins. The operator is using a rack with two or more HU positions – see picture.
When picking an item from the source bin, the user takes the loose item and places it on a HU position on
the rack. It is the users-decision on which HU position the item is placed. The items might have different
final destinations (e.g. PSA1, PSA2 etc). At the end of the picking tour, the operator will store the rack at a
handover point (5U01).
The second operator is doing the loading of the rack-HUs to one Distribution Equipment (5T01).
The third operator do the unloading for the just before created Distribution Equipment to the PSAs (6P50).
.
Test objects: Basic Scenario: Pick in Supermarket, Load Distribution Equipment and unload DE.
