1. What is the auxiliary that you use to form negative and questions statement

with the past progressive?

Para realizar preguntas en pasado continuo o pasado progresivo (past continuous tense) se escribe el verbo to be
en pasado simple (was y were), luego se escribe el sujeto (pronombre personal), y después el verbo principal con la
terminación -ing, esta terminación corresponde al gerundio en español.

Past Continuous. El pasado continuo se utiliza para acciones que estaban pasando en un momento específico en
el pasado. Como el presente continuo, se forma con el verbo auxiliar “to be” y el verbo+ing.

2. How do you form the present perfect tense?

Para formar el presente perfecto, se usa el verbo auxiliar “to have” en el presente y el participio pasado del verbo. Para
verbos regulares, el participio pasado es la forma simple del pasado. Ver la lección sobre el pasado simple para más
información sobre como formar el pasado.

3. When do you use the present perfect tense?

Es apropiado usar el presente perfecto al hablar sobre una acción recurrente entre el pasado y el presente: “I have visited
Rome three times”.
