Concept: There are three forms of business organizations based on ownership structure. A wise manager
should consider the characteristics of the business organization that he/she wishes to establish in
making the business plan as each presents unique advantages, opportunities, and challenges.

Foreign Business Organizations

Concept: In the Philippines, the government recognizes four forms of foreign business organizations. These
businesses are incorporated based on foreign laws and considered representatives of foreign

Classification of Businesses
Concept: Businesses can also be classified based on the type of products or services rendered. Definition

Activity: Select one business establishment near your area. Interview the owner using the guide questions
below. Summarize your report in a short bond paper.
1. Why did you choose to open this type of business?
2. What are the benefits of having such business?
3. What problems have you encountered especially during this time of pandemic?
4. How are you addressing these problems?
5. If given an opportunity to open another business, what would it be and why?
Include in your report the name and address of the establishment, the name of the owner, the
products/services it offers, and your realizations after conducting the interview.

Phases of Economic Development

Concept: Developments in the global economy are influenced by changes in two significant aspects: (1) the
capacity to produce or manufacture and (2) the capacity to distribute or transport. Beginning the 16th
