INTRODUCTION
Exploring Enzymatic Reaction from Various Catalysts.

Proteins that operate as biological catalysts are known as enzymes. Catalysts help to speed up
chemical reactions. Substrates are the molecules on which enzymes can function, and the enzyme
changes the substrates into various molecules called products. An enzyme attracts substrates to its
active site, catalyzes the chemical process that produces products, and then dissociates the
products (separate from the enzyme surface). The enzyme–substrate complex is the combination of
an enzyme and its substrates.

A ternary complex is formed when two substrates and one enzyme are involved.

one substrate and one enzyme are called a binary complex. The substrates are attracted to the
active site by electrostatic and hydrophobic forces, which are called noncovalent bonds because
they are physical attractions and not chemical bonds. The objective of this experiment is to Measure
the reaction speed of yeast when mixed with different catalysts.

To describe the effect of these catalysts when mixed with yeast. Basic composition of matter
Periodic Table Chemical Symbol and names Scientific Method are also the basic required knowledge
for this experiment
HYPOTHESIS
The experiment has a lot of variables that are subject to change during the experiment. An
example of these are the temperature, the consistency of the solution or what state of matter the
final experiment is on. These variables that have changed can be later on observed and evaluated on
the final parts of the write up. So, my theories for this experiment is that it will go according to plan
just like the video that was linked in the Google Docs. In their experiment they used the Catalase
enzyme from the yeast by dissolving it in water. My theory is that the 3% hydrogen peroxide
combined with the dish soap and yeast would cause the solution to bubble up and form a foam type
of some sort. Just like in the video. If all goes well then, my final conclusion for my hypothesis is that
I would do the experiment perfectly and would go through smoothly.
