I. Learning Objectives At the end of 45 minutes’ discussion, the Grade 4-Poises will
able to do the following with 85% of mastery:

a. Identify the different basic table manners.

b. Perform the basic table manners.

c. Emphasize the important of practicing the proper


table manners through essay writing.

V. PROCEDURES a. Elicit
Greetings!
- The teacher will ask the students to pray. Before the
class starts the teacher will check the attendance and
do their daily routines. Teacher should organize first
the physical setting of the classroom to avoid
distractions.
- Before the starts of the lesson the teacher will ask
random questions based on the topic that they
discuss last meeting.
b. Engage
- After the teacher review, he/she will now present the
lesson that they need to discuss for today. Teacher
can play a short clip about the proper table manners.

- The teacher will ask the students if what are their idea
about the topic. He/she can also ask if who among the
students practice the table manners when eating.

- Let the students gather their ideas.

c. Explore
- The teacher will group the students into 5 and let
them choose one leader. Each groups will perform the
table manners.
- While the students are performing the teacher will
facilitate them.

d. Explain
- After the students perform, the teacher will provide
team to each group to explain the activity that they
did.
- The teacher will now present the important terms and
vocabulary about the basic table manners. He/she will
introduce the different table manners.

Different Table Manners

Before the Meal


1. Be on time
2. Dress appropriately.
3. Wash your hands before the meal

During the Meal


1. Place napkin on your lap
2. Never tuck napkin under your chin
3. Sit up straight with both feel on the floor
4. Keep elbows off the table

After the Meal


1. Toothpicks should be used in private
2. Wait for the host/hostess to end the meal
3. Asked to be excused

e. Elaborate
- After presenting the lesson, the teacher will ask the
students what is the importance of table setting in our
daily lives.
f. Extend
- After the student share their ideas to the class. The
teacher will let them to create an essay why the
practicing the basic table manners is important. The
teacher will give the students 10 minutes to reflect it
based on their life experiences.

g. Evaluate
- The teacher will give a short quiz to the student to
know what the students have learned. He/she will
give 5mins to answer the short quiz.
