CHERRY LYN VALIZADO ASSIGNMENT IN PURCOM

IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION ON COMMUNICATION

EXPLANATION

The impact of globalization on communication as technology advances the world

is both getting larger and smaller. Today we are able to communicate with people across
the globe at the touch of a button. The rise in the use of the internet in particular has been
incredibly instrumental in improving the ways in which we connect with one another. We
are able to fully connect with someone who is thousands of miles away in real time and
the effects are profound.

Globalization is described as a structural phenomenon of increasing

interdependence among various parts of the world, for which the effects of an action feel
at a distance has produced a variety of economic, cultural, and social changes that have
shaped the world over the past 50 years. Without doubt this process was favored by
development and pervasiveness of digital technologies, that make the communications
faster and the information more easily sharable. Globalization has had a relevant impact
also in the educational field: the convergence of models of educational organizations, the
internationalization of key competencies definition and the diffusion of large-scale
assessment of student's performance
