Present perfect practice(and contrast with past simple)

1. LIFE STORY
 Ss think of approx. 5 things that define their life nowadays (you can give them ideas e.g.
hobbies, friends, job, home/house, possessions, relationships etc.)
 They write these (a word or short phrase for each) on a piece of paper and, in turns, show it
to the other Ss.
 They then ask and answer each other Qs on those topics, using the target language. Of
course they can use a range of tenses (present simple and continuous, past simple,
present perfect...) BUT point out you want at least one p.p. simple and continuous Q for
each topic.

2. CELEBRITY INTERVIEW
 Same idea as above, but for celebrities/entrepreneurs (perhaps best suited for homework,
in order to allow Ss time to prepare/research

3. HAVE YOU EVER...?

4. GUESS THE CELEBRITY

 Each Ss has a celebrity. They have to use present perfect sentences to describe that
person’s fame/life etc.
