1. What is internet?
- The Internet is a vast network that connects computers all over the world.
Through the Internet, people can share information and communicate from
anywhere with an Internet connection.
2. It is a device for transmitting data over phone wires, converting the digital form
into an analog form and back again to digital form.

- The software to view HTML documents as a Web page is called a Web
browser. Popular ones are Google Chrome, Apple's Safari, Mozilla's
Firefox, Opera and Microsoft's much hated Internet Explorer.

- A collection of linked Web pages that has a common theme or focus is
called a Web site.

1. Internet
- a global computer network providing a variety of information and communication facilities,
consisting of interconnected networks using standardized communication protocols.
2. Arpanet
- was the network that became the basis for the Internet. Based on a concept
first published in 1967, ARPANET was developed under the direction of the
U.S. Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA). In 1969, the idea became
a modest reality with the interconnection of four university computers.
3. WWW
- The World Wide Web, commonly known as the Web, is an information system where
documents and other web resources are identified by Uniform Resource Locators, which
may be interlinked by hyperlinks, and are accessible over the Internet.
4. HTML
- The HyperText Markup Language, or HTML is the standard markup language for
documents designed to be displayed in a web browser. It can be assisted by
technologies such as Cascading Style Sheets and scripting languages such as
JavaScript
5. ISP
- is a company that provides individuals and other companies access to the
Internet and other related services such as Web site building and virtual
hosting.
6. modem
- A modulator-demodulator, or simply a modem, is a hardware device that converts data
from a digital format, intended for communication directly between devices with
specialized wiring, into one suitable for a transmission medium such as telephone lines
or radio.
7. DSL
- stands for Digital Subscriber Line. Users get a high speed bandwidth
connection from a phone wall jack on an existing telephone network. DSL
works within the frequencies that the telephone doesn't so you can use the
Internet while making phone calls.
8. ISDN
- is a set of communication standards for simultaneous digital transmission of
voice, video, data, and other network services over the digitalised circuits of
the public switched telephone network.
9. T1 Line
- is a communications transmission service that uses 2 twisted pair copper
wires to transmit and receive data or voice traffic. This early form of data
connectivity was developed by the Bell System to bring data connectivity to
the vast majority of businesses

Common web browsers include Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome,
Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari. The primary function of a web browser is to

14. Outlook Express
- formerly known as Microsoft Internet Mail and News, is a discontinued email and news

- is a unique identifier for an email account. It is used to both send and receive
email messages over the Internet. Similar to physical mail, an email message
requires an address for both the sender and recipient in order to be sent
successfully.
16. Transfer Protocol
- is a standard communication protocol used for the transfer of computer files
from a server to a client on a computer network. FTP is built on a
client–server model architecture using separate control and data connections
between the client and the server.

- messages distributed by electronic means from one computer user to one or more
recipients via a network.

- may refer to any kind of communication over the Internet that offers a real-time
transmission of text messages from sender to receiver

- is an application layer protocol that facilitates communication in the form of text. The chat

- also known as a broadband phone, is a digital communications device used for making
phone calls via the Internet. It is also a commonly used Voice over Internet Protocol
(VoIP) application device.

- is an IQ test designed to measure intelligence and cognitive ability in adults
and older adolescents. The original WAIS (Form I) was published in February
1955 by David Wechsler, as a revision of the Wechsler–Bellevue Intelligence
Scale, released in 1939.

- The Gopher protocol /ˈɡoʊfər/ is a communication protocol designed for distributing,
searching, and retrieving documents in Internet Protocol

- was an advertisement-supported instant messaging client and associated protocol
provided by Yahoo!. Yahoo! Messenger was provided free of charge and could be
downloaded and used with a generic "Yahoo ID" which also allowed access to other
Yahoo! services, such as Yahoo! Mail.
