Desk is a remix of a classic Davenport.
It exists with an extendable worktop, an upper level and four compartments.
The compartments are removable and are at the same level as the worktop,
so everything can be easily be stored.

The dining table offers space for 6 to 8 people. The solid tabletop of the dining
table has two cases to hide or present things. The cases are covered by plates
which are made out of solid wood on one side and slated plates on the other.
Hot dishes can be posed on the slate. Like our wood, the slate stone comes
from the area surrounding the atelier.

NIGHTCOU C H
not just a daybed but a couch
you can really spend your nights on

The benefit of the Night Couch is to optimize the usage and quality of a per-
fect sleeping-area on a day-to-day basis whilst offering the visual charm and
comfort of a ‚real‘ Scandinavian sofa. A classic design with simple function, you
pull out the front and the back cushions become the extended matress. It can
be ordered in all textiles by the legendary upholstery textile company Kvadrat
or in the textile of the Hansen Family. By taking off the back it can also be
turned into a classic daybed.

Inspired by the boatbuilding interior of the Scandinavian folkboat, it reminds
to the clinker-hull of the classic boat. Thanks to the drawer-front’s design they
can be pulled out easily.

Perfect storage for your tivoli’s combo

The Remix Sound Sideboard has been created for the brand Tivoli Audio. It
provides the perfect space for Tivoli’s Radio Combo. While the radio combo
is visible, you can hide less beautiful devices in the lower cases. The back can
be opened, kept in position by a leather belt and offers space for cables and
electric connections.

TRUNK
Remix of a classic trunk,
inspired by the luggage of Marlene Dietrich

A simply yet beautiful two box construction in natural oak on castors which
splits open to reveal dresser drawers, cupboard shelving, and a unique rack
like hanger which finishes off the trunk beautifully. The trunk is a remix of the
traditional oversea trunks of the 19th century : hat tree, flip-up mirror, cubby
holes for shoes or papers, two drawers, and two large shelves for additional
storage.

Arthur is an extraordinary piece of craft reminding the boatbuilding tradition
of the viking age. The top comes in marble or solid oak and is easily removable
and placed on the wooden legs, held by the wooden detail in the middle of the
table. It offers space for 5 to 7 people.

Cake is a multifunctional coffee table that can be openend and transformed
into a stool with a cushion inside. The cushions are made out of the Hansen
Family textile and exist in three colours. The cover, once removed, can be used
as a tray.

in wood we trust !

We produce our furniture in Germany and in the Ateliers of Gesas Brother
Bjørn in Lithuania. We use massive oak from sustainable forests certified by the
Forest Stewardship Council, FSC. Our ateliers are located in the forests where
we harvest our wood. The design features the wood itself, giving birth to
handcrafted and unique objects.

Homegrown Wood, Handmade Furniture, New Scandinavian Design …

Handmade Furniture – Homegrown Wood – New Scandinavian Design.
The Hansen Family is a label with a strong handcrafted character, founded by
designer Gesa Hansen who grew up in a scandinavian family of carpenters, de-
signers and architects. “Homegrown” in the business comes from the natural
resources of oaks that we harvest in local forests, in this way allowing each piece
to be handcrafted and unique. The first collection won two times the interna-
tional Red Dot award and was nominated for the German Design Price 2011.
Gesa has been nominated twice for the Elle Decoration Award and won the
“Best Young Designer Price” of Architektur & Wohnen 2014.
The Family tree grows thanks to diverse collaborations such as:
Kitsune, Surface to Air, Steven Harrington, Tivoli Audio …
