ANA-MARIA WHEATCROFT

ABOUT ME

In 2003 I left my 10-year technology career to join the NYC Teaching Fellows and become a high school
math teacher. Since then I’ve come to view math as a language, and the best way to teach any
language is through immersion, as early in life as possible. That’s why I decided to switch to elementary
school teaching.

My goal is to create a classroom where math vocabulary is ubiquitous, and students engage with STEM
concepts as they go about their daily routines.
