Physical Features of
Texas
Texas has many different land
forms.
In West Texas, there are high
plains, deserts, and mountains.
The Guadalupe Mountains are also
located in West Texas.
In Central Texas, it has the rocky
Hill Country and there is a lot of
land good for ranching.
Texas’ Panhandle, located in
Northwest Texas, is flat and has
few trees. Palo Duro Canyon State
Park has steep cliffs of layered
rock.
Pine trees cover East Texas and
the land there is hilly.
The Gulf Coast, which is along the
Gulf of Mexico, has land that is flat
and sandy. It also has some
wetlands.
