 The rainfall intensity and river water level for Kampung Sandong is shown in the graph
above. It shows the data that taken every 1 hour for 5 days. The data starts being taken from 6th
February 2009 to 10th February 2009. For the graph, the vertical axis represents two data which
are rainfall intensity in mm/h for the left vertical axis and river water level in m for right vertical
axis. From the table data, we can see that there is no rainfall through out these 5 days. However,
the river water level at Kampung Sandong for 5 days shows some changes for every hour. Based
on the graph, we can see that the river water level achieved its maximum value on the first day
and third hour which is 1.48 m and it suddenly experience decrement until the 14th hour of day 1.
This same pattern continues which there will be a sudden decrease of the river water level at
certain hour and the river water level will slowly increase until day 5. There are also extra
infromations that we can get from the graph such as the mean of the graph is 0.4775 m, the
median is 0.465m and the standard deviation is 0.299984m.

Based on the data, even though there is no rainfall at Kampung Sandong during these 5
days of observation, it still shows us that there still have changes in river water level. It means
the river water level at Kampung Sandong does not affected by the rainfall. There are other
factors that can affect the river water level such as temperature (The U.S. Geological Survey
(USGS). Kampung Sandong is having a dry season since the station does not experience any
rainfall during the observation was made. The temperature is low at night, so the river water
level is high. Meanwhile during daytime, the temperature is higher, so the water level decreases.
This pattern can be seen in the graph above.
