Erlenmeyer Flask- designed for easy stirring, can be swirled by hand without spilling

 Not used for measuring as they are only 5% accurate

 Often used for titrations
Beaker- hold varying volumes of liquid
 Not used for measuring as they are only 5% accurate
 The spot lines up nicely with the rim of other glassware for easy pouring
Test tube- used to hold and mix small samples
 Stirred by tapping the bottom with two fingers
 Fit into both a centrifuge and test tube rack
 Often used in qualitative analysis
Volumetric flask- calibrated to contain a precise volume at a certain temperature.
- are used for precise dilutions and preparation of standard solutions
Florence Flask- Also known as a boiling flask, the Florence flask has a round bottom and a long neck. It is used to
hold liquids and can be easily swirled and heated. It can also easily be capped by rubber or glass stoppers.
GRADUATED CYLINDER- Used for measuring many different volumes

· The spout lines up nicely with the rim of other glassware for easy pouring

· Carefully measure the amount you use, see reading the meniscus

PIPET- Used for measuring specific volumes

· Used in conjunction with the pipet bulb, see pipetting

Graduated Pipet- Can be used to any of the given markings along its side. Note that there is a TD and a TC
pipet shown in the figure at right.

Volumetric Pipet - Extremely accurate, but only used for one volume

Pasteur Pipet/ Dropper- Are used for very small but non-specific volumes

Burette- to dispense and measure variable amounts of liquid or sometimes gas within chemical and industrial
testing specially for the titration process in volumetric analysis.

Burette clamp- is a scientific equipment which used specifically to hold and secure a burette on a stand, so that a
burette is fixed and more convenient for the experiment.

Stand and ring clamp- a piece of scientific equipment intended to support other pieces of equipment and
glassware — for instance, burettes, test tubes and flasks.

BUNSEN BURNER- Used to heat things; The hottest part of the flame is at the top of the inner blue cone

Alcohol burner- An alcohol burner or spirit lamp is a piece of laboratory equipment used to produce an open
flame. It can be made from brass, glass, stainless steel or aluminum.
Tripod- three-legged platform equipment, which is usually made of lightweight metal such as stainless steel or iron
so that it can be moved conveniently within the lab. The main usage is to support or hold the flasks and beakers
during experiments.

WATCH GLASS-is a round, concave glass dish used for evaporation in chemistry. It can also be employed for
weighing solids and as a lid for flasks and beakers.

A crucible is a small clay cup made of a material that can withstand extreme temperatures. They are used for
heating substances and come with lids.

Evaporating Dish- may be used as reaction vessels, or for the separation of the solute from a solution through
crystallization.

A lab funnel - used to channel liquids or fine-grained chemicals (powders) into labware with a narrow neck or
opening.

Mortar and Pestle- to grind, mesh or crush various ingredients

Tongs- for grasping and lifting vessels of heat-resistant material used in high temperature chemical reactions.

Tweezer- small tools useful in a range of laboratory and other working environments for  gripping and manipulating
small or delicate objects.

Gauze mat- consisting of a flat piece of wire gauze placed on a tripod to give a beaker or flask additional support or
to distribute heat more evenly.

Retort- a device used for distillation or dry distillation of substances.

Test tube rack- used to hold upright multiple test tubes at the same time.

Spatula- to transfer samples or chemicals from their original containers to weighing paper, weighing boats,
weighing bottles, weighing funnels, or other vessels or containers for weighing

Glass Rod- used to mix chemicals and liquids for laboratory purposes.

Thermometer is used for measuring the temperature of liquids.
