The document is a drainage drawing checklist that contains 8 items to check for completeness and technical accuracy of drainage drawings. It includes checks for completeness of drawings and notes, hydraulic considerations like transitions and velocities, structural specifications, foundation and geotechnical aspects, scour protection, other facilities, authority requirements, and constructability. The checklist covers both engineering and drafting aspects to ensure drainage drawings contain all necessary information.

Item Description Checked Comment
DE/IE PM 1 Completeness of Drawings:
1a. Drawing list, general notes, special notes on
respective drawing, location plan, layout plans, setting out details, longitudinal and cross- sections, and other details to cover the foundation and structural aspects, other services that may be affected etc. 1b. Completeness of General and Special Notes:
General and special notes should generally cover
extent of contract, concrete, reinforcement, reference to specification etc. Adequacy of description and spelling. 1c. Longitudinal Sections:
Longitudinal section should have distance,
existing ground levels, proposed invert levels, drain size, gradient with design flood levels for the respective design return periods. 1d. Cross Sections:
Where relevant, cross sections to include drain
dimension, side slope, concrete, steel reinforcement, weephole with DCR wrapped in geotextile (no weephole for peat area), lean concrete, piling, cut and fill, services location and crossings. 1e. Scale used on all drawings correct?

DE/IE PM 2 Hydraulic: 2a. Gradual transition is preferred than abrupt transition, smooth bends, junctions to minimize energy loss. Flow direction to follow natural topography preferably. Min. 0.3m freeboard should be provided. Max. velocity not greater than 4m/s for r.c. drain, and not greater than 1.2m/s for earth drain. 3. Structure:
Concrete grade, steel bar yield strength, min.
cover to reinforcement, bar bending dimension and shape, min. lap length and jointing for precast units being specified. 4. Foundation & Geotechnical:
4a. Sheet pile provided for major hydraulic structures
to control piping. 4b. Side slopes for earth drain not steeper than 1V:2H. 4c. Piling to set for major hydraulic structures like tidal control structures. 5. Scour Protection:
5a. Any scour protection requires? E.g. at culverts
and tidal control structures inlets and outlets, transitions, drops, channel banks etc. 6. Other Facilities:
6a. Detention/retention and water quality control
facilities shall be detailed out in plans and cross sections. Additional details must be included to show inlet/outlet systems and other pertinent components. 6b. Any erosion and sedimentation control plan required for Planning & Engineering Plan approval? (new DID SUSTOM requirement) 7. Authority Requirement:
7a. Road and roadside drain reserve, manhole and
grating covers to follow standard Land & Survey Department and council requirement unless approval has been granted. Min. road cross fall and gutter outlet provided to avoid road ponding. 8. Constructibility:
8a. Practicality for construction and maintenance?
