PTA Meeting
Thank you to the very enthusiastic parents who attended the
meeting last week – it was lovely to see new faces as well as
parents who have supported the school previously. We have a
dedicated committee and a good number of supporters that
mean we can start to plan activities and events for this year.
More details will be shared in the coming weeks when dates are
confirmed, but briefly, we hope to run in the Autumn Term:
non-uniform day for Halloween dressing up or any clothes (22nd
October), a disco (probably after the half term holiday), a film
night (nearer the end of term), a Christmas Fun Day (linked with
Christmas lunch and a theatre visit for the children), Christmas
Raffle and the return of the eagerly awaited Gin & Quiz night
(Mrs Forsyth and her team are keen to organise this too!). Later
in the year, the PTA hope to also run a further disco, a potential
Band Night, a Summer Fair afternoon for the children and
hopefully the return of the Family Camp Over.
Of course, the plans are subject to change with any guidance
change from the Government, but I was delighted with the
enthusiasm to give children and parents lovely events to take
part in – and of course to support the school.
Last year, you will know that the main ways the school was
supported were: the significant contributions for the outdoor
equipment, more books for the children, supporting with fun
parties and events and activities.
This year, as I said last week, the PTA would like to support the
further development of outdoor equipment, books (we always
need lots!), supporting school visits/residentials, school
chickens (yes, they are still in the plan!) and the LEGO
workshops planned this term following their postponement last
term.
Following my plea in the last newsletter, we have had a very
generous contribution from a parent and their business to PTA
funds that can be put towards the playground equipment very
soon – thank you to Eurospecial Express Ltd.
Thank you in advance for your support with the PTA events –
both your time/commitment and any financial contributions
you make.
Holiday Club
I am continuing to try to find members of staff who would run a
holiday provision for us – unfortunately we have not had
sufficient people interested. We will cast our advertising a little
wider and explore some other ideas. I cannot, at this stage,
offer a provision for holiday club this half term.
Parents’ Evenings
There are still a few appointments available for parents evening
– please book with information I sent out by email. Please
contact the school office with any questions or issues.
Flu Vaccination
Just a reminder, as we text out this morning – please sign up for
the flu vaccination. I attach again to the newsletter email the
letter with the link and school code that you need. I believe only
have of our parents have signed up so far.
Parent helpers
Thank you to the parents who have contacted Mrs Atkinson – if
you would like to help in school in anyway, it’s not too late to
get in touch. Pre-COVID, we found that parent helpers brought
great value to our school, really enriching the experience for our
children – parents too found it to be a very enjoyable thing to
do. Please make contact with school if you would like to help –
no experience necessary!
Parent Partnership
Thank you to the parents who have come forward offering to be
part of the parent partnership forum – a group of staff and
parents that can come together to positively share views – we
are still looking for parents from Reception, Y1, Y4 and Y6 as a
means to make sure we have views through the school. Please

Mental health focus Events and Dates

As I hope you have seen from a message I sent out on Monday, 8 Oct Non-uniform day – wear whatever
we are having a focus on our mental well-being this week to makes you happy!
