Ilayang Dupay Elementary School is situated on Five Thou-
sand One Hundred Sixty Five Square Meters (5,165) lot sit-
uated in barangay Ilayang Dupay, Lucena City. The lot was
donated by Sixto Ramos and Ciriaca Maaño last June 21,
1939 with Transfer Certificate of Title No. T- 2006 (T1652).
Ilayang Dupay had its first institution in 1939 in a
room attached to the house of Anastacio Tadiosa. Its first
and only teacher was Mr. Crisanto Tadiosa, one of the very
few education graduates of Lucena. When the second
world war broke in 1941, the school closed due to bomb-
ings and reopened only in 1942. In 1949, Mr. and Mrs. Six-
Baranggay Ilayang Dupay
to Ramos donated a new school site and named it Ilayang
Lucena City

there. History reveals that it was in the barrio where
Pre. Quezon had his first taste of political life. He was the
first Cabeza de Barangay of this place and was his first
passport to becoming a great politician. of the country.
