M.1 Living Things and their Environment
The Respiratory and Circulatory System

Name: _________________________________ Section: ________________________

Objectives:
1. Explain how the respiratory and circulatory systems work together to transport nutrients, gases and
other molecules to and from the different parts of the body.
2. Infer how one’s lifestyle can affect the functioning of the respiratory and circulatory systems.

Introduction
Dolphins surface on the water when they breathe. This is because dolphins are mammals that breathe using
their lungs to get air from the environment. Breathing is just one of the many essential processes in living
creatures to get the materials their body needs to function.
