CASE 4:
BITS AND PIECES INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION: Little Things Mean a Lot
Reaction Paper/Case Study

Bits and Pieces International Corporation (BPIC) is a manufacturer of injection

molded plastic products that has grown into a fast-growing company in four (4) years. Due to
the market potential of their company, they decided to expand the scale by merging a new
product, the roll frame. To this end, they need to upgrade their facilities, including land,
buildings, machinery, and equipment, and therefore require additional labor. BPIC will
undergo an expansion, so they recommend increasing the number of employees with
insufficient numbers in each position based on the target product capacity they want to meet.
Since manpower requirements are highly expanded, the company must provide more
numbers in each position that will be added to its organizational chart. Hiring more assistants
on the production line will greatly help simplify the company's manufacturing process,
because over time, the isolation and distribution of products will increase, so the profit
margin will also increase. Given that their goal is higher profits than previous sales, they
must consider that greater production capacity will not only increase land, buildings,
machinery and equipment, but most importantly, the personnel who handle everything during
the operational phase. Obviously, the increase in the number of machines and equipment is
directly proportional to the increase in labor demand, because factory personnel are also
responsible for operating them. If it is proposed to expand the land and production capacity,
the emphasis should be placed on the provision of additional quantities for each
position/designation in proper business management and company management.
