USED TO + VERB 1

General English for Intermediate Class


DEFINITION

We use ”used to” when referring to things in


the past which are no longer true.
It can talk about repeated actions in the past
which we don’t do in the present.
THE FORM OF
“USED TO”
The form ”used to” is used with all subjects
e.g. I, we, you, he, she, it, they
EXAMPLE OF
SENTENCE
01 I used to have long hair,
(but now I have short hair).

02 He used to smoke,
(but now he doesn't smoke).

03 They used to live in India,


(but now they live in Germany)
1. Negative Form
BE CAREFULL!!
I, you, Did not used to is preferred when
