COURSE SYLLABUS

First Semester- Academic Year 2020- 2021

Course Title Fundamentals of MAPEH

Course No. BEEd GE 17

Course Prerequisite None

Course Description This course will provide an overview of the academic discipline and professional
context of MAPEH. It deals with the significant facts and bases for determining the
principles and existence through the ages of MAPEH. The course covers history,
philosophy, events, people, and program that led the current status of MAPEH as
well as the physiological and sociological bases aspects of MAPEH necessary to
the theoretical grounding and coursework to utilize contemporary learning. Each
unit concludes with a proactive look at the major issues and problems that confront
music, art, physical education and health.

Learning Outcomes The Self from Various Perspectives


LO 1: Provide information about the nature, concepts, and objectives of music, art,
physical education and health.
LO 2: Identify the influences of the various philosophies on music, art, physical
education and health.
LO 3: Trace the historical development of music, art, physical education and health
LO 4: Identify the philosophical, psychological and sociological theories of music,
art, physical education and health.
LO 5: Apply the theories and principles in the teaching of music, art, physical
education and health.
LO 6: Relate the theories and principles to the teaching of music, art, physical
education and health.

Course Policies 1. Students are required to participate in all virtual class discussions and activities
introduced in the class.
2. Students must comply with the number of hours they should attend in the virtual
class. Students must attend the class regularly and on time.
3. Students are required to submit all the requirements given to them before the end
of the semester.
4. Students should pass the written tests with minimum of 75% proficiency.
5 Students must observe virtual class etiquettes at all times.

Consultation period Monday 2:00- 3:00 pm at General Education Department FB Account or may visit if
allowed at the General Education and Physical Education Department located at
3rd Floor South Wing JVY Building, CKCST.
