Reflection Paper of John Q

Father’s love is unconditional, indeed. In the movie “John Q”, it is about the
sacrifices and the love of a father to his son. Wherein, he will do everything, even to
hostage people, just to save his son. He hostaged the people in Hope Memorial Hospital
so that he can request to the authority to take a heart transplant worth 250,000 dollars
for his son. In the end, he got what he needed but he was imprisoned because of the
ruckus that he has done.
For me, the movie is so heart-touching. You could feel how John love his son so
much which I can also relate because I have a father who will also do anything for us.
All the sacrifices that he had made is for us in able to provide our needs and wants.
Before I watched the movie, I thought it will be plainly boring but when it is attentively
watched, it is great. It gives inspiration to many people especially to speak for our
rights. The poor people in our society are being neglected in terms of health care so it
is also an eye-opener for the government to provide the needs of its people. John Q
opened the eye of many people. Although, his way was wrong, I still understand him
because he just did it for his beloved son. He’s son is dying and because he can’t afford
the 250,000 dollars, he will just cling to a knife’s edge. But even he hostaged many
people, he still didn’t intend to hurt them and still prioritize their safety. I also
understand why the government imprisoned John Q. They’re just abiding with the law.
And if they’ll tolerate John Q’s actions, many crime incident will happen. In addition to
these, the movie is for the families and the government. ‘Families’ because in family
you can do everything just to make sure they will live and be happy. And for the
‘government for they should promote and give importance to the health care of their
people.
In conclusion, the movie is not just about the relationship between the father
and the son but also it is to relay message to the people to fight for their rights and to
make the government aware to the needs of its people especially the poor ones. The
movie will be helpful and an eye opener for many people.
