Producing compost;
a) Compost is human produced through the decomposition of organic
substances such as domestic and garden wastes.
b) The purpose is to reduce the amount of garbage and to return useful
minerals back to the soil.
c) Domestic wastes such as leftover food, vegetables and fruits together
with fried leaves and grass are put into a hole in the ground measuring 50
cm x 100 cm x 50 cm.
d) Each layer of organic wastes is separated by using a thin layer of lime or
soil.
e) The hole is covered with a plastic cover or with soil and left for a few
weeks.
f) Decaying bacteria and fungi decompose the organic wastes into humans
which can improve the fertility of the soil.
g) The humans produced is rich in carbon, nitrogen and minerals.
