From IRC:44-2017 Table 7, the approximate amount of entrapped air to be expected in normal (non-air-entrapped) concrete is 0.8 % of
31.5mm norminal maximum size of aggregate.
A-5 SELECTION OF WATER CEMENT RATIO
a) Maximum water-cement ratio -- 0.40 (as per IRC:44-2017, IRC:15-2017)
b) Water-cement ratio ( As per IRC-44 2017 Table No-8 ) -- 0.32 0.32 < 0.40. Hance -Ok.

Maximum water content for 31.5 mm aggregate -- 165.00 As per IRC: 44-2017,Table No-10
(for 25 mm to 50 mm range)
Water content can be incresed by 3% per each 25mm
Slump i.e 3% Estimated water content for 25 mm slump 165-(3/100)*165) = 160.05 Litrs/Cu.m hance = 160kg
As per Super Plasticzer is used in the mix the minimum of 22 % water content can be reduced so, reduced content equals to
160X.80 = 128 Litrs/m3
Water content for 31.5 mm aggregate and for 25 mm slump is -- 128 Kg
A-7 CALCULATION OF CEMENTIOUS CONTENT
a) Water-cement ratio -- 0.32 0.32 < 0.40. Hance -Ok. As per IRC: 44-2017
b) Water content per cum calculated -- 128
c) Total Cementitious content= Water content/WC. Ratio (128/0.32 -- 400 kg/m3 391> 360. Hance -Ok. As per IRC: 44-2017

A-8 PROPORTION OF VOLUME OF COARSE AGGREGATE AND FINE AGGREGATE CONTENT


a) Volume of coarse aggregate corresponding to 31.5mm As

per IRC:44-2017 Table no-11 .

C) Checking for Combined Gradation of Mix using above proportion as per specified in IRC-44 Table 3 for 31.5 aggregate size
Taking above proportion for Coarse & Fine Aggregate the Combined gradation is check was showing coarser side of specified limits as per IRC-44 Table-3
(report attatch). After several trial finely 58:42 ratio CA:FA was meeting near to mid limit of PQC grading as per IRC-44 Table3 (report attatch). So
Finely 58:42 ratio CA:FA was fixed for further Trial for checking other parameters of mix.
Hence Final the Volume of Coarse is -- 0.60
Hence Final the Volume of fine is -- 0.40
d) Combined blending aggregate gradation in total mix CA+FA -- Conforming to IRC-44-2017
e) Sieve analysis of Natural Sand FA -- Conforming to Zone II of Table-4 of IS: 383-2016
f) Coarse aggregate 31.5 Aggregate as % in Total mix is 22%
g) Coarse aggregate 20 Aggregate as % in total mix is -- 22%
h) Coarse aggregate 10 Aggregate as % in total mix is 16%
i) Fine aggregate (Natural sand) -- 40%
