IV. ACTIVITY OUTPUTS, OPEN CAMERA QUIZ, PROJECT, AND FINAL ASSESSMENT/EXAMINATION:

1. All outputs must be handwritten in your CHEM BIO 2 Notebook. Write legibly the following on the starting page of every
activity using the following format in writing specified details: Surname, First Name, Middle Initial (Cajucom, Evelyn B),
Section (BSBIO-2ABC), Date (October 4, 2021), and Activity Number (Activity 1).

2. All outputs to be submitted must be in PDF file format and named accordingly as Surname, BSBIOSECTION, Activity
Number) (e.g., Cajucom_BSBIO2A_1.pdf). Installing a CamScanner app on your phone is recommended for this purpose.

3. If you opted to submit an activity with a partner or group, the surname of the collaborators must be arranged alphabetically
(e.g. Cajucom_Macapagal_ BSBIO2A_ 1. pdf or Barquez_Cajucom_Macapagal_BSBIO 2A_ 1.pdf).

4. Attendance to required webinars must be supported with screenshot of email receipt of a Certificate of Attendance,
screenshot of participation, and personal notes about learninsg from the said webinars (see example at the last page).

5. As Final Examination in the Laboratory: Critique a published journal article based on its merits regarding its chemical
measurements and analysis. Submission must include the published journal article being critiqued.

6. Final Assessment/Examination in the Lecture will be via ZipGrade.

V. CRITERIA FOR GRADING

1. Studentship (Promptness of Submission of Requirements) - 10%

2. Class Standing (Webinar Certificates, Projects, Assignments, Open Camera Quiz) – 60%
3. Major Exams – (30%)

VI. Tips in Passing ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY

✓ DO NOT MEMORIZE, ANALYZE. There are various types of analytical problems, analyze and practice solving
them.
✓ Do NOT PROCRASTINATE, PRACTICE. Skills in solving analytical problems take time, start by practicing to
solve them.
✓ DO NOT CRAM, SCHEDULE IT. Your learnings in 10 hours spread in a week are MUCH BETTER than that of
10 hours in a day.
✓ GEAR UP FOR THE COURSE. For this course, you will need at least the following: Notebook and pens,
Scientific Calculator, Books/ eBooks References, Cellphone/Laptop/ Tablet/PC, Self-Discipline, Good Time
Management, etc.…
✓ BE AN ACTIVE LEARNER. No one else will study or take an exam on your behalf. OWN IT
