ACTIVITY 4

Choose one (1) impact of the metropolis to the individual then narrate real life experiences or
observations that support the impact you chose.

I grew up in La Union and I observed a lot while I was growing up. The life there is no
joke. You need to persevere and work hard so that you have something to eat every day. The
people there just revolve around life in their respective jobs and the others are in vices. You can
see and observe different kinds of people. There are those who are selfish, crazy, hardworking
people and there are kind ones.
As I grew up, I was transforming into a bad girl. It is not easy to live in the province
especially if you do not have a stable and permanent job. We can see the increase in people’s
dependence through work that only pays more attention. Yes, they are doing that for their
families and to have food to eat everyday but you should still and give time to your family.
Spend time and enjoy every second with your family because they are always by your side
when you are having a hard time. You can see the difference of each in their every move and
lifestyle. In their abilities that we do not do like working with others who have different jobs in
morning, afternoon and even in the evening that is a skill and that is unique that only a few can
do to support their families. That is what is unique to them. The situations of blasé attitude
among the people living in the province. This is the habit of absolute boredom or lack of
concern where people act like they do not know each other that “your life is your life” there is
no sense of life. This world changes as time goes on and almost all people do not waste time on
nonsense. They just spend their time on important things and things that are connected to
them.
The role of money economy as to influences has always been great not only to me but
generally to my family. As I give a thought to the question, financial stability of my family
somehow affects me with my decisions, my limitations, and somehow dictated even my dreams
in life. I look my family’s finances as a determining factor. It is a determining factor for me to
strive to achieve my goals and it is never a limiting factor. Nowadays, people see at money
economy as power, generally we are exposed to issues regarding money as a form of prestige,
honor and stability but I see it an opportunity. The more money you have the greater
opportunity to do change, to help and opportunity to be used in the society, to be useful to my
family.
