Some people think that governments should ban dangerous sports, while
others think people should have freedom to do any sports or activity. Discuss

Reasons why others think people should have freedom to do any sports or activity
Extreme sports provide their players with skills,
experiences and life lessons that they are not able to
learn from other easy leisure activities.
 It is the difficulties and challenges of these
sports that push people to their limits and
teach them valuable lessons of bravery
and commitment.
People would become more confident, self-reliant
and determined after they succeed in doing such
dangerous sports.
 When facing obstacles or challenges like this,
they know how to cope with difficult situations
successfully.
Các môn thể thao nguy hiểm cung cấp cho người
chơi những kỹ năng, trải nghiệm và bài học cuộc
sống mà họ không thể có được từ các hoạt động giải
trí dễ dàng khác.
 Chính những khó khăn và thách thức của
những môn thể thao đó đã đẩy người ta đến
giới hạn của họ và dạy cho họ những bài
học giá trị của sự dũng cảm và cam kết.
Mọi người sẽ trở nên tự tin hơn, tự lập và quyết tâm
hơn sau khi họ thành công trong những môn thể thao
nguy hiểm như vậy.
 Khi phải đối mặt với những trở ngại hoặc
thách thức như thế này, họ biết cách giải
quyết những
tình huống khó khăn một cách thành công.

It is argued by some that extreme sports should be made illegal, yet, others believe that people
should have the right to choose what leisure activities they want to do. I personally agree with
the second group.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why some people argue that the government
should ban dangerous sports. The first reason is that these sports could put the players at a
higher risk of injury or even death. A very small technical error, for example, could cost the
players their lives. Many people have died because of taking part in extreme sports such as
base jumping, scuba diving or bull riding. Another reason is that there are a wide range of
enjoyable and less risky pastimes which could replace these sports. Instead of engaging in
these dangerous activities, people can choose swimming, running or tennis which are not only
easy to play but also bring a lot of fun and pleasure and help keep people in shape.

On the other hand, it seems to me that extreme sports should not be prohibited. Firstly, such
extreme sports provide their players with skills, experiences and life lessons that they could
not learn from other easy leisure activities. It is the difficulties and challenges of these sports
that push people to their limits and teach them valuable lessons of bravery and commitment.
Secondly, people would become more confident, self-reliant and determined after they
succeed in doing such dangerous sports. When facing obstacles or challenges like this, they
know how to cope with the situations successfully.

In conclusion, although some people feel that it is better to ban dangerous sports, in my
opinion, people should be free to do any sports that they enjoy doing.
