Types of Noun

Learned:

What is Noun? Noun is a name of person, place, or a thing. For example; Yousaf, Islamabad,
Car. There are many types of nouns like Muscular and Feminine, Gander Noun, Proper Noun,
Common Noun, Concert Noun, Abstract Noun Singular Plural Noun, Countable and
Uncountable, Collective Noun, Changing Noun, Compound Noun

 Gander Noun: There are four types of noun name are Muscular Noun, Feminine Noun,
Common Noun, Neuter Noun. Every male is called Muscular for example brother lion boy
and etc. Every female is called Feminine for example girl, lioness, sister and etc. Common
noun is both girl or boy for example doctor, teacher, gust. Neuter noun name of non-living
thing for example table, chair, car and etc.
 Proper Noun: Name a particular place, thing, person or an idea began with capital later is
called proper noun for example Yousaf, Lahore, Zoo etc.
 Concert Noun: A thing which we can feel for example table, chair, ice etc.
 Abstract Noun: Abstract Noun are things that we can’t feel for example love, sleep, idea.
 Singular and Plural: Singular noun is used for one person or one thing, for example fish,
dog, plant. Plural is used for many persons or things, for example dogs, plants, computers.
 Countable and Uncountable: Countable Nouns that we can count for example print, pencil
paper etc. Uncountable Nouns is which we can’t count, for example Rain, Happiness etc.
 Collective Noun: A word is singular but meaning of that word is plural for example group,
flock, pack etc.
 Changing Noun: In changing noun we can change singular noun to plural noun by adding
suffix. For example, boy becomes boys and bus becomes busses.
 Compound Noun: Compound Noun are made up of two word for example hand bag,
Washing Machin etc.
