Assignment #1

1. What is maths?

Math is a science of structure, order, and relation that has evolved from
elemental practices of counting, measuring, and depicting the shapes of objects. It
deals with logical reasoning and quantitative estimation, and throughout the years its
development has involved an increasing degree of appreciation and thought of the
subject matter.

2. Where can you find maths?

Maths can be found everywhere and is part of our daily lives, from counting
simple objects, calculating finances and measurements, to counting the number of
hours we spend daily. Math is not only numbers but structures based on
mathematical concepts and may be found in micro and macro scales. Math can be
found in nature and an example of these are the fibonacci spiral, golden ratio, honey
combs and sunflower seeds.
