♦ All students are to attend school all day & each day of testing - - - unless they
have an “excusable absence”. Students checking out for inexcusable reasons will
receive zeros for the classes they miss.

**SAC MEETING: Today, April 19th, in the FCS library @ 5:30pm
**NHS APPLICATIONS: All high school National Honor Society candidates must turn in applications to
Mrs. Duhart (room 1210) by TOMORROW, April 20, @ 3:15pm.

**Pictures with Easter Bunny: Thurs, April 21, K - 5th grade students may have their picture taken with the
Easter Bunny. Pictures will be taken in the library starting at 12:00pm; Mrs. Barber will set up a schedule. Cost: $3.00
Proceeds will go towards the 4th Grade trip to St. Augustine.

**SPORT PHYSICALS: Students wanting to participate in sports or cheerleading next school year should make
appointments with their primary provider to have their sport physicals done. Physicals expire yearly on the date the exam is
done. Students may pick up a physical form from Coach Wright or the front office.
**FCS CHEER Try-Outs: If interested in trying out, student must: • be in grades 6-11, • passing with D or better in 5
solid credits (GPA 2.2 or higher), • have no more than 3 disciplinary referrals for year, • paid all outstanding balances
due in previous years cheerleading/sports, •must be able to attend camp July 13-17. See Ms. Lynn Clark for try-out
packet. Physicals will be scheduled in the next couple of weeks & will be mandatory. You WILL NOT be allowed to try-out
if materials & money are not turned in by 3:10pm, April 26 - no exceptions! Tryouts are April 26-30.
**FCS FLAG CORPS Try-Outs: The Marching Seahawk Band is adding a Flag Corps for the 2011-2012 Season.
Any student that is interested in trying out, please stop by Mrs. Duhart’s room (1210) for more information. Eligibility
requirements are as follows: • must be in grades 8-11, • have at least a 2.5 GPA, •no more than one referral for the
current school year. Practices will be held May 2-5.

**SCIENCE PROJECT BACK BOARDS: Now on sale - $6.00. See Ms. Buffkin or Ms. Sawyer to purchase.
Science Projects due May 4.

**GCCC Dual Enrollment-Summer & Fall: Registration for the summer & fall terms will be April 11-May 6.
The dual enrollment office will be open until 6:00pm from April 11- April 14 (after these dates, regular office hours
Resume, 8:00am-4:00pm).
**Certified Nursing Assistant Program: Students interested in program need to apply NOW!!! April 29 is the
end date. Contact Pat Wagner, GFC Nursing Secretary @ 227-9670 EXT. 5522. The earlier you apply the better.

SCHOLARSHIPS
-College for Every Student Scholarship: Due in guidance by April 25. Available to all CFES participates.
One award of a 2 year scholarship plus a $900 annual book voucher will be given at FCS.
-Florida Seafood Festival $1,000 Scholarship: Due by April 29. Applications in Mrs. Duhart’s & Guidance
-Forgotten Coast Builders Assoc. $1,000 Scholarship: Must be postmarked by May 6. Preference given to
student majoring in a construction related field, but is not required. Applications in Mrs. Duhart’s & Guidance
-JCI Senators Scholarship: Due by May 8. Applications in Mrs. Duhart’s & Guidance
-Apalachicola Bay Rotary Scholarship: Due by May 15. Applications in Mrs. Duhart’s & Guidance

Hunt on the field adjacent to the sheriff department on HWY 65. All kids, who must be accompanied by an adult, are invited
to come to enjoy egg hunting, prizes & grilled hotdogs. Compliments of the Sheriff’s Office. FREE!!!
**Friday Night Movie: The Renovatio Youth Leadership Organization is doing a fundraiser for their educational trip
this summer. The group will be having a “Friday Night Movie Night” on May 13 at the St. Patrick’s Church in Apalachicola
from 4:00pm-midnight. Advance tickets are $5.00 or $7.00 if purchased at the door. To purchase tickets, please see
Deanna Quick, Adreenah Wynn or any other Renovatio member.

GED Classes have moved back to Franklin County School!


Classes are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays (except holidays) from 4:00pm-8:00pm in 1100 building.
To register, see Linda Bradley from 4:00-7:00pm on days above.
The next GED Test will be given May 2 & 3 at the Franklin County School library at 6:00pm.
To register for the test contact Linda Bradley during GED classes or Maxine Creamer @ 670-4481.
