History: Right sided pleural effusion, shortness of breath, cough. ?Carcinoma breast.

Gross: Specimen container is labeled with the patient's name and medical record number and is unmarked for
site.
Received in formalin are two tan brown tissue fragments collectively measuring 6 x 4 x 2 mm. The entire
specimen is submitted in single block.

Micro: Sections show pleural tissue and skeletal muscle with few inflammatory cells. No malignancy is seen.
IMMUNO/HISTOCHEMICAL STAIN:
Cytokeratin: Negative

Diagnosis: RIGHT PLEURA, BIOPSY:

Benign pleural tissue.
