Activity 2: SYNTHESIZING YOUR LEARNER

Answer the following questions based on your learning. Be brief and concise.

1. From your own point of view, make a list that describes a person who is literate in media
and information. Write down at least five (5) characteristics.

- Avoids posting inflammatory or offensive comments online

- Filters adhered information before spreading.
- Does not troll people in website or web forums.
- Values the rights of others by not posting personal information, photographs, or videos that
another user does not want released publicly.
- Uses information effectively to accomplish a specific purpose.
2. Of the list that you have enumerated in your Weekly Online Activities Log, which media
provider did you spend the most time? And what role does this media provider play in your life
as a SHS student?

I realized that I spend most of my time scrolling through my Tiktok for you page. There are
lots of things you can learn on that application. There are so many information that you could
know, even your just scrolling. You can also associate or interact to many people who are in
different country or region. But not for me because I’m not a creator, I only use Tiktok whenever
I’m bored because I find it entertaining to watch short clips. I believe that it is the place where I,
as a student, somehow learn a lot of knowledge about a certain thing. It might not be the media
provider that has tons of lessons, but still, there’s a lot of things about life that I may have found
interesting, not just for school stuff, but also for my own life. Moreover, there are pages or accounts
who provides lessons for students like me, which is really helpful.

3. Looking at the total number of hours you have spent on online activities per week, do you
think the figure is essential for you to be able to be media and information literate individual?

From my viewpoint, time doesn't really have anything to do with anything, and it doesn't
actually test one's capacity to be media and knowledge literate. They are still literate if they possess
the characteristics of a person who is literate in media and knowledge.
