Professional Objective: As a student, I plan to serve the community in which I am placed by


gaining experience and serving as a linguistic mediator, providing ethical and skillful
interpretations, and furthering my knowledge of Deaf and Hispanic communities and their
corresponding languages. By working in both the Deaf and Hispanic communities, I hope to
conciliate the linguistic and cultural misunderstandings often perceived by outside groups, and to
spread awareness of the culture and languages of these two people groups.

Education
● 2018 Graduated from Glendale High School (Springfield, MO)
● 2022 will graduate from Eastern Kentucky University with a double major in ASL
interpreting and Spanish
Professional Experience
● Volunteered as an interpreter at Journey Community Church in Richmond, KY
starting in the spring of 2021
● Studied abroad in Costa Rica July-August 2021to teach English to the children in
the community which I was placed
Work Experience
● Employee at Ms. Gilmore’s Vintage Suitcase Tea Room 2017-2021
○ I worked in various positions as a server, hostess, barista, cashier, and
retail assistant.
● Served as an Assistant Recruitment Ambassador from spring 2019-spring 2020
○ I worked for the Admissions Department at EKU, where I would give
campus tours, present PowerPoint presentations about various clubs,
financial obligations, and academic majors, and perform office work such
as filing.
● Spring 2020 I worked as the American Sign Language Interpreter Education
Department student worker
○ My main duties were office work, such as filing, sending department wide
emails and informationals, making fliers for upcoming workshops, and
working with the interpreters in our database to send out and keep track of
their CEU’s.
● Employee at Red Lobster January 2021-December 2021
○ I worked as a server at Red Lobster restaurant, where I interacted with
customers and improved my customer service experience, manned the
cash register, and performed various other tasks asked of me.
Volunteer Experience
● Joined Alpha Gamma Delta sorority Fall 2018-Spring 2022- Served as the
○ Director of Ritual 2020-2021
● Worked as an au pair from May 11-July 16 2019 in Spain
○ I worked as a nanny for two different families while in Spain. My duties
were taking care of the children, cooking, cleaning, and teaching English
to the children.
● Volunteered as a tutor for Actividades Bilingues (Spanish tutoring center for
children) Spring 2019-Fall 2020
○ Every Monday and Wednesday I would volunteer as a tutor for elementary
and middle school children whose second language was English. I worked
with every subject, and also taught English after the homework tutoring
session ended.
● Volunteered as an Ambassador for the College of Education at EKU Fall
2019-Spring 2022
○ As an ambassador, I would volunteer at the various events put on at the
university and represent the ASLIE department. I would campaign for
donations from alumni and other donors, and speak with prospective
students about their future at EKU.
