Inside BNP CIB, the MUREX Trade Processing team is in charge of the maintenance and improvement

of the MUREX 3.31 platform used to handle the Front Office and Middle Office activity in addition to
the generation of various reportings and providing data to Back Office (Settlement and accounting).
The application users are based in various places such as: Paris, London, New York, Asia

In the trade processing team, MUREX receives interest rate derivatives, credit derivatives and asset
and liability management products. Those three types of financial products are coming from front
office upstream applications and feed MUREX via Straight Through Processing (STP).

The trade processing team currently consists of two (02) business analysts and four (04) IT specialists.
In that team, a rotation is setup between BA so that each week, a business analyst ensures the level 3
support. The team is using agile methodology SCRUM with 2 week’s sprints and releases every 6
weeks.

The team manager is currently looking for an additional business analyst.

The main duties of the MUREX business analysts are:

- handling all STP issues between Front applications and MUREX

- handling business as usual requests coming from:
o middle office
o IT specialist
o Back office teams
- liaise with settlement and accounting teams to make sure FO applications are sending
the correct data in the correct format for the Back Office processes
- providing level 3 support for:
o users
o level 1 support team
- selecting and prioritizing subjects to be delivered in production for upcoming releases
- follow up all the steps of the
- follow up the non-regression tests with developers
- doing user acceptance tests when required
- offering training to users when required
- offering training to level 1 support team

The MUREX business analysts should:

- know the investment banking sector and its business lines (Front, Middle, Back)
- understand how rates and credit derivatives work
- handle multiples projects in parallel without losing focus
- understand financial software architecture and products modeling
- communicate fluently in english on a daily basis (writing, reading and speaking)
- know about XML grammar
- know SQL queries
