The Natural History of Diarrhea
a. Prepatogenesis stage
At this stage is caused by microorganisms both bacteria, parasites, and viruses such as rotavirus, E.
coli, and shigella. The spread of these microorganisms may occur via fecal and oral pathways. At this
stage have not found any signs of disease if the body resistance of the host body is weak and it is
very easy for the virus enter the body
b. Patogenesis stage
Incubation
Viruses (salmonella, shigella, E, coli, V.cholerae,) enter the body by infecting the intestines in both
the jeyenum, ileum and colon. Once the virus infects the intestinal virus penetrates the cell and
conducts lysis then the virus develops and produces enterotoxin. The'incubation period is usually
about 2 – 4 days, the patient has more than 4x defecate but not without any other symptoms.
- Less skin turgor and normal skin elasticity. - Rapid pulse and quick breathing.
Final Stage
At this stage if got good treatment then the patient can recover perfectly but if this stage does not
get good handling then it can be life-threatening (death).
