1. One interesting thing about the
author.
Edgar is obsessed with cats, Edgar
often wrote with a cat on his shoulder.
Edgar is one of the writers who can make
the readers who reads his work carried
along and imagined in his novel.
2. Summary of the story
Edgar and his Wife really love
animal and they has one black cat in
their hous. One night because of his
illness, he cut out one of his cat eyes
and feels sorry in the next morning, but
the next few days he killing his cat
because he thought that the Cat is not
love him anymore. After that tragedy ,
his house is on fire and Edgar found
something weird in the wall seems like
his cat who already died, but one
week, Edgar began to hate his cat and
try to kill the cut but his wife tried to
stop him suddenly the husband kill his
wife and hide her dead body in the
walls of the cellar but, One day when
police came to his house suddenly a
voice came from inside the wall and
when the police breaking down the
wall, they can saw Edgar’s cat with his
red mouth wide open in a scream and
his one gold eye shining like a fire
standing on Edgar’s wife head and
Edgar fell that the cat voice was
sending him to the gallow.

3. Who are the characters? How do
they contribute to the plot?
Pluto: was the Edgar’s best friend and
they did everything together.
The Edgar’s wife: she even becomes
heroic at the end when she saves the cat
from imminent death.
Edgar : Edgar undergoes serious
personality changes going from a good,
loving guy to an abusive murderer. He
blames the cats for these problems that
make him so enraged all of the time , but
he never sees a problem in himself.
4. Choose a character. What do you
like/dislike from him/her?
Edgar’s wife because she’s a
sympathetic character and her beloved
pets. So I like Edgar’s wife character.
5. What’s your favorite scene? Why?
When Edgar’s wife saves the cat from
imminent death. Because I think this is
heroic accident and here it’s seen that
Edgar’s wife is very in love with his pet.
6. Find something in the story that is
the same as your life. Explain.
Which is the same as my life is an
animal lover in this black cat story the
Edgar family loves their pets very much.
7. If you could meet a particular
character from the story? What
would you say to him/her?
If I meet Edgar’s Poe I will say’’ You
will be forgiven by god when you want to
change’’.
8. What lesson did you get from the
story?
When we are in any condition what so
ever in any problem we can’t vent
everything to another person or animal.
